I think it is so popular for two reasons... of the three years Chevrolet made that body style the 57 had all of the refinements that the two previous years brought. Couple that with the unique design for 57 and the release of the 283 they just hit so many things just right. The 57 Chevy was by no means the best seller of that year (Ford out sold Chevrolet that year) it just had the best lines in my opinion. Fins of a Caddy with the power helped make it what it was and is the car of dreams.
