If you're dubbing a song over video (which is really stupid) put in the title "Song: This Song Sucks by Crap Artist, dubbed over Moral Orel"!!! Moral Orel should not be the first words in the title because this has nothing to do with the show. In fact, just don't upload stupid videos.
Part of the genius of the show is that at the end, you can look at almost every character and reasonably have extreme feelings of both love and hatred for them. Obviously there are exceptions to that (it would be tough to hate Orel), but in my opinion it's the most evident in Clay.
This has to be the most educated non trolling Comments on youtube.com it goes to show you educated people flock to things that are meaning full and have a deeper message (True Story)
People put down Clay too much. They attribute his problems to his alcoholism. His problems come from way earlier than that. His problem is that he feels like nothing. His father didn't even consider it worth his time to beat him. To him, a beating is a display of affection because it shows you are worth the time. That's why he was so hard on Orel. He didn't understand how else to show it.
But that's the best part of this show. His parents were messed up people but Orel still turned out fine.
clearly clay just had severe issues with both his mother and father which effected him sexually. that didnt make him bisexual just fucked up. its not clear what his true orientation was because he was so twisted
id say the saddest thing about this was orels parents were just awful yet he turned out so well makes me wonder how long till someone blames this for them getting drunk or ignoring their family instead of just being a GOOD parent -_-
@birdmanband123456 During the Frankenhole marathon for Halloween, it turned out Orel was the Dr. for the new episode and said that we can look forward to a Moral Orel special sometime in the near future.
I love THIS SOONG!!!!!!!! IO Perry's singer is amazing... I'm at a loss for words... As Philip DeFranco would say, I would "like to put my mouth on her body".
Moral orel is more light and bubbly at the beginning, just kind of showing how off things are in moralton, but Orel doesn't start realizing it till the last season after his dad shoots him and orel realizes that Clay is an alcoholic and more importantly, that adults aren't always right. I think the creator did a fabulous job of capturing Orel in that adolescent stage where children become more aware of themselves and the world around them. best episode is Honor, hands down because it brings ac
I did not like this show when I first saw it. I think I caught it right in the middle of the first season and the I just really didn't care for it. I think that was because I'd never seen that show, 'Davy and Goliath', so I never really picked up on the humor. It wasn't until I saw the third and final season that I realized how amazing Moral Orel was. I was just shocked at how dark and deep the show was. I'm glad that I got to see it.
been trying to get into this show but cant get my head around wtf its supposed to be, and have yet to find it funny any way. its just fucking weird, dont get any of it.
@NerfHerderD17 the show is about the brokeness and hippocrasy in the the modern christian family. The first season is mostly poking fun at religion in general, but the second and third season go deeper into psychosis that surrounded most of the people in the town.
@AusomeJohn I can see what it's trying to do, and i guess i would watch it, im just not into a lot of the type of humour that you get on adult swim shows, most of its just too weird, i like ATFH, robot chicken and metalocolypse but some stuff on there i just dont get. guess ill try and watch it from season one, see if that helps.
I agree Clay and Bloberta were horrible parents Not to mention the obvious about Orel they treated shapey like he didnt even exist every time you see him it seems hes in some life threating situation and neither clay nor bloberta seems to give the tinyest of a shi t as long as hes not crying they also traded him in for blockey and didnt even notice for the longest time i dont know how anyone could say they were even decent people much less parents still the most underated show of alltime
have u noticed that almost all episoded of moral orel are off the internet... its all the same vids... the only ones i really like are numb and alone...
i think in a way moral is lucky to have clay and bloberta as parents. cause as the ending moral loves his children and he's in love with his wife. sometimes it's better to have a bad example then no example at all. love truly does conquer all.
Thank you very much for introducing me to Io Perry. However, I'm concerned: will listening to this, like Belle and Sebastian before, make me pee sitting down?
@keintabak Don't worry, keep a room full of dead animals guns, always have a glass of whiskey in your hand, and make sure your kids fear your study, you'll turn out just fine!
No doubt, its a good show. Sometimes families have problems like this and i like that this show shows the truth that not all families can be perfect like they always try to be. The characters are realistic .
Clay and Bloberta both were troubled and didn't face thier troubles, they ran from them. Clay escaped trhough his drinking. Bloberta by being extremely distant and cold.
I feel the Clay and Bloberta did love oneanother, but didn't like e.ach other, but were scared to admit it. Yes Bloberta triggered Clay's drinking problem, but Clay drank to escape his demons and guilt of his part in his moms death. Though his mom was an alhoholic and passed the gene on to Clay.
@JRG1120 Clay's mother was extremely overprotective and a religious zealot. She never disciplined Clay, which caused him to be bratty and his father became jealous in him. Clay started drinking because Bloberta egged him on. He found that drinking makes him oblivious of everything.
I think the thing I loved most about the show is how connected I felt the the characters and even more than that, how while the majority of the show was messed up and sad, the happy parts really touched me and pick me up, no matter how crappy life seems at the moment.
@TotoroNorton I also loved the devolpment that the characters went through and how each of them became who they were. The thing I really wanted to see was orels transformation to adult and having to get over his idealism of his father to the point he becomes his own man.
what it boils down to is there just really messed up people. Clay did what he could to make Orel "normal" you can't really say Bloberta was a bad parent she cooked cleaned at the very least there mediocre parents. yeah Clay shot Orel he's an alcoholic blah blah blah. the whole point of the show is to show hypocrisy in a small town not necessarily to show that these two people were bad parents. they cared enough
If you look closer, they may have cared about Orel, but they were both sick, broken people who couldn't make anything right. Bloberta triggered Clay's alcoholism in the first place and refused to build any real connection with her family to fix it. Clay, in the end, was loveless and cruel. They both got exactly what they deserved in the end. Each other.
@Vidihawk Clay had love, it was just over-powered by his selfishness and anger. Part of him wanted to make Orel into someone he could relate to and love, but the other part, which wanted to make Orel into someone sad/bad enough to not make him ashamed of his own miserableness, won. In the end his love for Orel served only to feed his shame and self-loathing, not make him a better father.
@laserfeet34 I can see your point. I suppose he had to have some humanity in him to be outraged at all at his lot in life. I still think it was far too buried in his self-centered childishness for it to be worth a damn, but I can see a couple of instances where he reached out.
@Vidihawk Clay was gay, he was having an affair with the blonde guy from Orel's school, he hooked up with Orels mom because they live in a very Christian neighborhood, and he's "in the closet" about his sexual orientation. His parents stay together, because thats the more "christian" thing to do
@Beekyskeep It seems odd that he would also have an affair with a matronly woman if he was gay. More likely, he was bisexual. I also don't see how any of this explains his rotten personality.
@BlobertaPuppington Disagree. I think the point, of the last season at least, is to show what happens when relationships and people get broken beyond repair, but are still forced to live their lives together, and the effects they can have on the people around them. And Clay wanted to form Orel into something that wouldn't make him ashamed (aka someone as bad/sad as him, within social bounds) to make his life easier, he loved orel, but this served to make him unhappy, not a good dad.
@BlobertaPuppington I dont think they cared whatsoever at all, they didnt even notice when their younger son was missing. Yea hypocrisy was a major point but the parents didn't have any genuine love for their kids. They were merely trying to fill the role they thought they were supposed too. Good video btw
@BlobertaPuppington I always figured Clay beat Orel (in his study..*gulp*) to show that he loved him. In "Passing", it shows how Clay came to believe that it was the only way to show it.
@HappyHeathen77 nope.. remember the last episode ever, orel grows up loving family and in the back is a picture of bloberta and clay.. may be horrble parents, but both had terrble bringing ups.. and clay drinks :)
i would love to hit those parents with a bat. No wonder Orel's so naive. It's just lucky Orel started thinking normally and grew up ok, and it was a miracle that his brothers did too.
If you're dubbing a song over video (which is really stupid) put in the title "Song: This Song Sucks by Crap Artist, dubbed over Moral Orel"!!! Moral Orel should not be the first words in the title because this has nothing to do with the show. In fact, just don't upload stupid videos.

Also, I think Clay's love of the coach was not a sexual one. People can love a person but not feel sexual attraction towards them.
