god daaaamn!! im not a huge springsteen fan, im more of a metal, death metal and all that extreme heavy metal shit fan but his nebraska album just got to me and became a favorite of mines a while ago, and ive always wanted more of the same and now i found the outtakes!
Actually a lot of his stuff is influenced by the later Ramones stuff...which makes sense considering he wrote hungry heart to give to his buddy joey ramone, but both joey and bruce's producer told him to keep it and do it himself.
Nahh. What would you replace it with? I think Nebraska was solid, and I cant' picture it any different. Bruce actually wishes (now) that he had put USA on Nebraska, but who knows? He's always got so much material.
I just wish Bruce could have put EVERYTHING he didn't finish or market on Tracks - that way I could hear it all. Where did you find this?
I suppose one of the tones of the album is the personal and social backgrounds of people, so in that case this would have worked. But he had plenty of stuff to put on that record, and this didn't fit in every way. What Bruce may have been doing during this time was playing EVERYTHING he had acoustically. When he decided to go for a solo album, he threw out a bunch of stuff, and this song and others became known as "outtakes," as good as they are.
This version simply rocks, love it....

jaggermorrison2009 2 years ago
I think Bruce's early versions of any given song are haunting!
Have you heard the original acoustic version of Thunder Road?
That's a killer too as allot of them. Adam Raised The Cain is another killer version on the Born to Run outtakes and alternative version!

i agree. the lyrics dont fit the mood of the album, despite its creepy feeling.
