im 41 now and ive never in my life heard this story. but it is the most shocking story ive ever heard and have seen in my entire life. even in old age after times changed the men never went back to court? and confessed for money? even when i was growing up in oklahoma there wasnt any blacks around our towns but the whites looked down upon the indians. this i know because there was several girls i coiuldnt date in the 80s for being american indian. sad but true. rip emmett till.

MANY people know what happened to that poor little boy. obama being elected was not progress, if anything it showed how much racism there still is today. A large majority of black people voted for him just because he was mixed with black and that makes you racist, you do not vote for someone because of color, you vote because of there beliefs and what they are going to do for the Country, Obama has been named the most unqualified person to run for president in history, if he were 100% white he would not have won the election.

If character was what we looked for in Obama, he would not have been the president. What happened put us all back 50 years in race relations. We are regrettably very divided now more than ever in the last 50 years. I pray God watch over us. We Americans are a great people, black, white, yellow, red and brown. Please vote by qualification come 2012, not by race.

im 41 now and ive never in my life heard this story. but it is the most shocking story ive ever heard and have seen in my entire life. even in old age after times changed the men never went back to court? and confessed for money? even when i was growing up in oklahoma there wasnt any blacks around our towns but the whites looked down upon the indians. this i know because there was several girls i coiuldnt date in the 80s for being american indian. sad but true. rip emmett till.

@keciad2 i agree with 100% and the only reason why i know now is i was just clicking channels and stumbled upon it. right here where i live in oklahoma it was the indians who was treated this way. two indians was tied to a tree and burned alive one time because a white lady said they made a pass at her. since im indian i was not allowed to date a lot of girls since indians had a bad rep. im only 7/32s indian blood but i look indian so im proud of my heritage. sad but true. godbless.

The shame is that today, no one has respect for history. It's every generation's job to keep the past relevant and alive.

@keciad2 His murder wasn't swept under the rug at all. This story got attention from coast to coast and worldwide. It helped spark the civil rights movement. MANY people know what happened to that poor little boy. Your's is a moot point anyway because in 1950s southern America, if some black men killed a white boy, white vigilante mobs would have killed them. THAT is the stuff you don't hear about. I think 39tommyboy just didn't pay much attention to current events when he was younger....
