We seem to know Danny so well through the wonderful videos, and absolutely love his voice. I'm a hardened ex copper but shed a tear every time I hear him! John & Norma, England.
1 verse speaks deeply to me when I hear Danny sing it:
O joy, that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to Thee,
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
And feel the promise is not vain,
That morn' shall tearless be.
Danny went through so much the last couple of years of his blessed life. Hearing his voice sing that says it all. He is now experiencing that tearless morning "Forever With Jesus".
George Matheson wrote the lyrics to this hymn. He commented as follows: "I am quite sure that the whole work was completed in five minutes, and equally sure that it never received at my hands any retouching or correction. I have no natural gift of rhythm. All the other verses I have ever written are manufactured articles; this came like a dayspring from on high."
For many years, starting back in the early seventies, I sang the Gaither songs in churches, at funerals and wherever I had the opportunity. Always, and I mean always, I tried diligently to pattern my vocal stylings after the Lord's Herald Trumpet, Danny Gaither. Hearing the Holy Spirit through this man's voice gave me hope in dark hours, and inspired many personal worship services. May God be praised for letting this man be used of Him for the short time we had him with us! Jesus is Lord!!
Danny loved this song...that's obvious from the way he sings it here...now, this dear and talented saint LIVES the song and sings it for Jesus in person.........
This beautiful hymn was sang at my dad's funeral. This song I believe kept my Dad living and believing in God all his life! It was the only love he knew as a child as his parents abandoned him. My Daddy truly loved his Lord. We are awaiting our reunion with him in heaven - as he rests in his grave awaiting the glorious return of our Great God and Saviour Jesus Christ - May He come quickly
Everytime I watch this tribute to Danny it brings tears. I know why the Lord called him home, He needed Danny's angelic voice with him. Thank You Danny for being a high school teacher I will always remember and for giving the world the fantastic gift of your angelic voice!!!
I saw the Gaither Trio in 1973 as a 16 year old boy who had just become a Christian. I was into Rock n Roll (I still am) but was blown away by Danny Gaithers voice and the passion the Trio had for the Lord.
That was my first time of ever hearing Danny Gaither sing. My Lord, he has one of the most fabulous voices I have ever heard. His singing reminds me of Roy Orbison. Thank you!
What an awesome gift, I still get chills when I hear Danny sing. What a beatiful video to commemorate his life. From Pastor Robert E. Hardy Houston,Tx
Danny Gaither had a wonderful musical range and such a splendid voice. He is sorely missed

Somewhere in Singapore a sixty-something man wept as he listened to this moving hymn. That man was me.
