I use the blade for the first strike only. I found it works better to get a break in the surface first, then the rest of the swings are with the back, preventing it from getting stuck.

Would help to use the blade and not the butt. Great work though. He would make a nice truckie.

Using the butt is usually more efficient than using the blade end because the blade tends to get stuck.
