  • Dude that head is meant for Marching corps drumline snares, not thin 6-9 ply snares, your snare is gonna crack eventually, watch, you'll see.

  • gotta love the studio x's

  • you got ripped off....that drum head sounds like its made of construction paper...

  • Thats cause its tuned way too low. If he would tighten it it would sound so much better.

  • i have tightened it a lot since then

at the time i had a thing going where that sound worked with what was going on in my band

    xD

    tightened sounds way better

  • it usually does if you know what i mean

  • If you want to hear what a kevlar head is supposed to sound like, check out the video "Kevlar on normal tension drum" by cong89my. That will show you what the head should sound like!

    :)

  • That snare head is for military snares. They have an awsome sound its a very tight sound. You should have it tighter but it will make your drum explode because its not the right type of shell and stuff.

But if you buy a proper snare drum it will sound freakin amazeing. Right now it sounds like a regular snare head. But enjoy it anyways!

  • Awesome set and sound, i want them. (i've had about 3 sets and all have either been burned up or stolen) So yeah, my next pay check goes to finding me some good toms. Im so out of practice right now...

  • tama imperial star. Look it up!

best bang for your buck kit on the market.

  • hey, tune that snare HIGHER!!!!!!!

    it'll sound sick dude..

  • haha, trust me, that bitch is on there tight

i could hear the wood starting to warp or something

and i figured it probably was a good idea to stop

    xD

  • isn't that a marching head?

  • im not sure

but i love its sound so it doesnt really matter

  • Lol...don't worry...tune it up tight.

the sound of the cracking is the glue setting in from the drumhead, not the wood, so ITS OKAY. anyways, i like my snare drums up to bflat or c sharp.

    anyways good luck!

  • oh, i see. I shall experiment with that this weekend.

  • Truly EC2s and Pinstripes FTW!

  • nice, i have those studio x's too, theyre pretty awesome, they have a nice tone. im lookin into getting a kevlar snare head too

  • lol, well, this was the day i got it, and that was three months ago, and it still looks absolutely brand new

    its amazing

    and i love the aquarians

    xD

  • .....you paid almost $40 for that pos snare head? and you wasted your money on the studio-x's as well? if you want a durable, loud head, then you should get the Evans Genera HD dry snare head. lessens the ringing. and for the toms, you should get evans ec2. THE best tom head on the market right now.

  • lol, i like it, its all preference

but since then i learned how to tune it better

  • haha ok, i forgot to take into account this vid was a couple of months ago. and actually DONT buy the hd dry head, i bought it, and i tried tunin it for hours. it doesnt sound good at all. lastly what kind of drum set is that?

  • ah

    i see

and its a tama imperial star

    great kit for the price

    :D
