  • MY background is both evangelical protestant and classically trained musician: with a degree in music theory and composition:this is a painful combinartion!!

I know full well the catholic Church gave us the best music. They even gave us the western music tradition itself, coming as it did from plain chant.

This wonderful piece shows that tonality is not dead yet, and I thank you again for posting it here.

please forgive the protestant and hear the musician instead :)

  • @Strefanash Thats the beauty of music, at its best it transcends any tradition and touches the heart and soul.

  • In all seriousness I regard Francis of Assissi as a religous maniac, (I am an evangelical protestant, how else can i view the man) but this music is pure ecstacy. In it I can meditate on the presence of the Most Holy. I learn to ignore the intentions of composers, and can only be overcome by this, a piece and a composer i had never heardof before today

  • @Strefanash To try to be "perfect" like our lord is to appear as a religious maniac in this world. The rest of us just try to be a little better :)
