well i guess they have constant power going to it. they have it connected to the smoke alarm and that is connected to the switch in breaker box. when that goes off guess it acts like a on and off switch. they all sound like this here.
Do they only do it once like in this vid, or do they do it all morning. If they only do it once, you are lucky.
At my local high rise, they came and tested every fire safety device, including the alarm system. But, they tested the alarm system, they usually did it from 8:30 to 11:30 AM, but sometimes shorter, and sometimes longer.
they test it in every apartment. there are 12 apartments in this building. this thing goes off every time unless they shut it off at the main thing if there is one of them messing up. kinda sucks sometimes. least get lucky sometimes and the one in the bedroom kinda messes up and makes a quiet buzz sound instead.

I wonder if the strobe was 120 VAC. I thought the last 120 VAC visual signals made my Simplex were the 2903 series.
