this is the victory lakes saxophone section ensemble music and we went over it in sectionals and matt matt mitchell and i were dancing when johnny played his part and we wernt playing!!! it was awesome
Gimme 1 guitarist name that can blend so many different styles into his solo´s, with such a great sound and hitting every note as Brian Setzer does...............none.
I got to work a show that he played in Austin TX when swing made a comeback and i have to say it was an awesome show.excellent showmanship. The original Backyard lives on in our memories....
that is a guitar dude. it's called a gibson les paul. one of the first types of electric guitars. it doesn't seem like a guitar because brian's god given rockin tallent
@originalbilldoe actualy its a gretsch. i forget exactly wat model. notice the f-holes, the thick (hollow) body. gretsch actualy makes a brian setzer signature model
i agree that brian is a GREAT guitarist, singer, and performer, but under rated? no, he isnt under rated. why is it that everyone thinks every good guitarist is under rated? people say tommy emmanuel is under rated. its not like he's played over 1,000 gigs ffs, world wide.
under rated doesnt just mean good, it means good but no one knows about them. everyone loves setzer, and if you dont, i dont care to know your musical prefrance, because it couldnt be that good.
Saw his Christmas Special in Las Vegas 2009! Took my hubby and son for an early Christmas present! Setzer rocked from beginning to end! We will go every year!!!
He actually messed up the lyrics during the second solo. He said, "Papa's in the ice box lookin' for a can of ale... Jill stayed up she wants to learn how to jive and wail." the lyrics are, "Papa's in the ice box lookin for a can of ale... Mama's in the backyard learnin' how to Jive and Wail."
Not all of it. It would be more of an intermediate to advanced song. The main melody is easiest, but the sax and guitar solos are pretty hard. Also, the trumpets at the end are hitting really high notes that are hard for beginners. But, nice song choice!
Brian Setzer is the man..I've been to about 6 of his shows and they are just crazy fun..He puts everything into them..The man knows how to ROCK!! He is also one of the best Guitarists ever to come around. He has kept the same style since his Stray Cats Days and he keeps getting better and better.
It's songs like this: cool, tough, sexy, brassy, fun and backed by real, disciplined talent, that gives us all a sense of true appreciation for modern American music in all of its various forms and for whatever generation that first produced it. Mr. Setzer, please keep the good times rolling.
yeah he has been a part of the Brian Setzer Orchestra for awhile actually. I have some of their cds. Im learning this tenor sax solo. Its totally bitchin'. The coolest solo i have ever seen.

Was this song written for toddlers/elementary school kids?
Unimaginative lyrics and extremely repetitive.
Kids like that kinda thing.
Is it a euphemism for sex?

Most blues/rock n roll/boogie woogie is a euphemism for sex.

Brian took guitar lessons from my stepfather, Ray Gogarty in the late 70's.
He was his prized student - totally into JAZZ!
I used to sit outside the door and listen while they jammed.
He is a truly gifted muscian who merges musical genres to create uniquely accessible music.
