  • do someone have sheet music for this piece?

    a reply would be appreciated

  • @enthuc Yeah.

  • I used to play this in concert. Sgouros is simply outstanding i always liked his playing ever since I heard him play Mephisto Waltz.

  • I love this piece especially the first and last movements. The pianist is very tallented too!! He looks young

  • Ha - no I didn't. I wonder where he is (I don't think the poster is the kid in the video...)

  • show some gratitude that you actually get to listen to this amazing music from the comfort of ur own home.

  • Nice job & energy. Keep it and it will only improve - with speed and interpretation when you are older.

  • Hm... did you notice this video was recorded in 1983?

  • i think its a curse in disguise. You loose the attitude with which one should approach a serious performance

  • Arrogant is all I can say, this man is a genius.

  • Anyone saying he plays this piece too slowly obviously hasn't listened past the first movement, which is indeed a bit weak. The scherzo makes up for it, and the tarantella is great!

  • I liked the first movement.

It wasn't perfect but it was good.

  • everyone plays this orchestral movement MUCH too fast, just as they do the prokofiev toccata, sgouros tempo is perfect for the travelogue/folkish music going on here

  • there is no mercy for bad playing

no matter what age you are one should learn to do things well and this is NOT the way the this sonata should be played

  • this boy had the balls to play rachmaninoff 3 when he was ten. by criticizing a genius behind the web's anonymity makes you seem really unimportant. I will only change my opinion about you if and only I see your solo concerto on you tube.

keep walking(well I'm sorry, I meant "keep studying")

  • Having the balls to play rach 3 at 10 is not the point, the point is learning from an early age to do things well, and this is not a good version or good playing, just becasue you are 10 , 11 or 15 does not mean you get to do whatever you want to.

  • Not bad for a 14 year old, but not very good. Check out Citalalli Guevara's fiery performance!

  • A total misconception of the piece. It's reflected in his articulation, his tempos, and his sound. It's a very rhythmic piece, the sounds need to be kinda dry and all the metric changes should be showed as well as the syncopations of the first movement. Come on !! The piece needs to have the Latin flavour !!!

  • hes 14 cut him some slack...

  • WAAAAYYYYY too slow! Omgosh, I nearly fell asleep! This piece is supposed to be so nuanced!

  • Was it too slow for you? Let me get this straight: Dimitris Sgouros is a Greek piano player, with fame equal to his talent. If you had searched a little, you would know that his was born 1969, which means that when the video was shot, he was 14 years old. Have some mercy...

  • g...great paformance...

  • Fascinating. But I can only find Parts 1 & 2. Sgouros captures some deep sonorities in this intellectually challenging piece. To me, Ginastera is like a Latin Prokofiev.

  • This is brilliant! He might just be the next Scriabin...at least at piano. And isz this his Comp. again?

  • pffff .. hahaha

  • you an idiot

  • Why don't you go fuck yourself Matthew. I found out like 3 months ago you dick and no one likes you...

  • thanks for this great pianist vid again
