Anyone saying he plays this piece too slowly obviously hasn't listened past the first movement, which is indeed a bit weak. The scherzo makes up for it, and the tarantella is great!
everyone plays this orchestral movement MUCH too fast, just as they do the prokofiev toccata, sgouros tempo is perfect for the travelogue/folkish music going on here
this boy had the balls to play rachmaninoff 3 when he was ten. by criticizing a genius behind the web's anonymity makes you seem really unimportant. I will only change my opinion about you if and only I see your solo concerto on you tube.

Having the balls to play rach 3 at 10 is not the point, the point is learning from an early age to do things well, and this is not a good version or good playing, just becasue you are 10 , 11 or 15 does not mean you get to do whatever you want to.

A total misconception of the piece. It's reflected in his articulation, his tempos, and his sound. It's a very rhythmic piece, the sounds need to be kinda dry and all the metric changes should be showed as well as the syncopations of the first movement. Come on !! The piece needs to have the Latin flavour !!!

Was it too slow for you? Let me get this straight: Dimitris Sgouros is a Greek piano player, with fame equal to his talent. If you had searched a little, you would know that his was born 1969, which means that when the video was shot, he was 14 years old. Have some mercy...

Fascinating. But I can only find Parts 1 & 2. Sgouros captures some deep sonorities in this intellectually challenging piece. To me, Ginastera is like a Latin Prokofiev.
do someone have sheet music for this piece?
a reply would be appreciated

Nice job & energy. Keep it and it will only improve - with speed and interpretation when you are older.

Hm... did you notice this video was recorded in 1983?

i think its a curse in disguise. You loose the attitude with which one should approach a serious performance

there is no mercy for bad playing
no matter what age you are one should learn to do things well and this is NOT the way the this sonata should be played

Not bad for a 14 year old, but not very good. Check out Citalalli Guevara's fiery performance!
