It has a very Sumi-E type effect, like it's been hand painted using a thick brush and many layers of watercolor.

I love the Japanese undertones, infused with the video. I would love it if the game had NO storyline whatsoever - if the entire point of the game was to just explore, and create your own path.

I don't know if anyone else here knows (or agrees) but this kind of reminds me of that show Samurai Jack that ran on CN for a while. It had these awesome environments and there was this big emphasis on detail, especially the sounds. Like wind blowing or leaves shifting in the breeze, or swords clashing. Very epic show just like this trailer! :D

What I mean is, I don't think the average viewer took in all the detail, emotion, sounds, sights and everything else like I (and a few of my friends) did. A shame really. To be honest, this doesnt even look like a game, it looks like some weird abstract trippy cartoon from the 60's, or maybe the people who made it were all spiked by the mexican tea lady who put magic mushrooms in their tea & coffee, and so they thought this kind of thing looks shit hot.

@clitmint The point of these games isn't in their action or gameplay, but rather their art style and atmosphere (like a Final Fantasy game that was made before the Enix merger). Look up Shadow of the Colossus as it's the best game to demonstrate this. It was almost good enough to get Roger Ebert to finally accept video games as art.

I'll get my shit jumped for saying this, but I really hope this game is more GAME and less ART. I think if they tossed in more "official" / "traditional" / whatever gameplay into one of their games, it could be something extra amazingly special, as opposed to... very pretty, but only entertaining in five minute bursts every couple months.
