  • government ROMNEY is so smart full of faith

in AMMERICA and so handsome i realy wish he

had made it now instead of MCCAIN.

and religion doesnt have any thing to do

    with presidency elections.

and hukabee is only a fat religious pig.

  • This is outrageous - Huckabee is a religious bigot

That alone disqualifies Huckabee to be Pres.

If you also consider that Huckabee ate squirrel popped in his college dorm room popcorn popper you have to reject Huckabee.

  • It is extremely important understand the foundation upon which Mormonism is built. Romney's agenda seems somewhat Church driven in that they have embarked on a campaign to call Mormonism Christian.

The two are not the same.

Crafty words will not make them the same. Christianity is build upon an unchanging solid foundation of Jesus Christ alone.

We as Christians do NOT believe that Satan and Jesus are brothers.

  • HoffDesign - Could you expound on your thinking about Satan. As a Christian, please explain the theology behind Satan as viewed by the main stream Christian religions. Where did Satan come from? Who created him? How did he come to be the devil, so devoid of anything right?

  • hoser,

A very good way to discover understanding of the Word is through the use of the "Strongs Concordance". You will find Satan is used approx 53 times. There are other names for him, the serpant, Lucifer, the temptor and such. He was cursed "the dust shall you eat".

Jesus said that Satan was cast down like lighting because he thought himself equal with God. Satan is the father of ALL lies. He said you will be as gods. Joseph Smith taught the same.

  • HoffDesign,

Well, you didn't answer my question. Who created Satan? What was he before the earth was created? I seriously, would like you to tell everyone what your belief is in this regard. Is it too much to ask? If you don't know, just say so.

  • Hoser,

Read the Word. Let me help you.

Start with John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men."

Is44:24 "I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself"

  • Hoff,

OK, so you have said that the Word (God) created all things, including Satan. How did he end up being the devil? Did God create him that way? Or what?

It would help to know what organized religion you belong to so we know where you are coming from.

  • Of course God created everything, including all his children. He also gave his children the freedom to choose right or wrong. Lucifer, chose wrong. He became evil because of his continued wrong choices.

  • Mitts terrorist expert is Cofer Black, no. 2 at Blackwater!

  • I posted a video here in response to Romney's Dec 6th speech.

I have trouble getting past the campaign to make Mormonism ---Christian. He said "We Worship the same God". No we don't

  • what country do you live in mitt?

most from the south who are baptist, evangelist or fundamentalist vote solely on the basis of their religion.

their litmus test IS religion and two narrow subjects abortion and gay rights. if you don't pass those religious tests, they you don't get their vote.

  • well, he's addressed that hasn't he? if there are bigots out there he doesn't care, because by their very nature they are irrational and un-american. he said, "if my religion sinks me, so be it."

  • romney said he didn't believe people wouldn't choose a president based on their religion or the church they attend. my response was to that statement.

  • shouldn't it be obvious that he meant people at large and not specifically a fringe group? I mean obviously he isn't saying, "the people who won't vote for me because of religion, will vote for me because i say so." evangelicals make up 20 percent of the voting population, and i think we can reduce the bigoting extremists to 5 percent.

  • excuse me key, but southern baptist, evangelists and fundamentalists combined are in no way a "fringe group", they make up the majority of the religions in the south. a large number to ever call fringe in a national election.

  • but being a baptist or evangelical doesn't make people automatically prejudice as you're assuming. of course fundamentalists are not going to vote for romney, because them being discriminatory is crucial in their beliefs. but you can't tell me that being religious alone, makes you prejudice and that's the case romney is making -- rational christians vote for values and not churches.

  • hopefully if you're from the south you can clarify that for me.

however, baptist, evangelists, and fundies have voted as a block in the last few elections as republicans, based solely on how their preachers tell them to vote. and that's a fact! and yes most of them are prejudice in many, many ways. add the word bigoted to that sentense also.

  • this is more annoying for the both of us, i think, than it is productive. i'm much more optimistic, statistically, than you are about the rationality of voters. i don't believe historical determination is a method to believe anything. and i doubt that you can have proof, and therefore can claim to be fact, that voters vote how their preachers tell them and its reflected statistically.

  • why are you optimistic? you think those people are ever gonna vote other than who their preacher says god sides with?

have you ever chatted with one of those southern christians. no matter how you bring fact into the conversation, the bible trumps everything...like "god gave us george w bush, so no matter what he does is right"

but no matter, i'll sit back and watch events prove what i say.

watch the returns in 08 and see where the southern religious vote goes.

  • well i guess we will see, but i'll remain optimistic.. i don't think we can pigeonhole the christian voter. i don't disagree that there are irrational people -- democrats exist afterall -- but i think people in general are rational. we'll see.

  • after years of watching, i KNOW we can pigeonhole the christian voter. only christians are good enough.

look at huckabee's rise in popularity. you think it's because of his economic policies? not at all, it's because he lives by his bible.

btw this democrat voted for romney when he ran for govenor. your snide remark about dems is all telling about you and your neo con politics.

  • i'm aware of huckabee's surge and it was because of religion, but it can't be sustained solely based on religion. i believe he will start tapering once people know more about his policies.

and sorry about the dem remark, but i believe in capitalism, and i believe socialism is an irrational religion that the neo dems are subscribed to.

  • how the hell do you think bush got elected? en mass stupid southern christians voted for him twice!

why do these stupid republican candidates court the southern christian vote? do you see any dems going down that dubuous road?

come on keyan, you're not talking to an idiot here, but you seem to exemplify that trait.

  • bush embraced a lot of what ALL republicans liked policy-wise. he was boosted by the christians, but you can't run on religion alone. and i don't think the same christians wouldn't vote for romney. i believe christians vote the way they do because of values.

.. they court them because, fortunately, some religious viewpoints, such as liberty and family, are human and therefore american values. religion teaches these things unknowingly and it works for the GOP...
