@iversonandmuhamidali Sure..Practice, Practice, Practice. Passing is one of the most difficult apart of EF football. I spent alot of time practicing before using in game situations.

@Number10pen Presently, you have to check out various Hobby stores or online at ebay. There are very expensive boards ($200-$300 or $40-$60) at discounted toy stores. Good luck and when you do get a classic board, you will have fun!

What I'd love to see is an "Electric Football" cheat chard for Madden NFL: play it and one or both teams' players behave extremely erratically for one or more plays. Immediately fall over at the start of the play; run backwards and out of bounds; dive to the ground four yards before a sure touchdown. I can picture it now!

A player gets tackled by a defender when the defender hits their base in the front or the back. Some EF players make different rules such as a defender has to hit the front or back of a base at least half of the base and not just hit it. Again, there are varying rules depending on what's agreed upon. Thanks for your question.

How does Electric Football work? How do you control the individual pieces?

I use to play this game all the time, but now it is all about Ultimate Paper Football.

The indivdual pieces go by themselves. You can direct their way by turning their direction base (new bases) right or left. For older bases, you have to adjust their threads underneath the base.

You don't. The base just vibrates, causing the players to move. You put them in position beforehand; you adjust their base, which (maybe) determines their direction of movement; and then you HOPE they run in the right direction.

Really, it's not so much a game as a fun toy. The results of a play are ridiculously, hilariously unpredictable—as you see here—and the player has almost no way to meaningfully influence the outcome of a play, whether for better or for worse.

The capricious decisions of the Electric Football Gods always trump whatever strategy you may have devised. The best course of action, then, is to pray to Them—pray that your return man does not instantly run backwards into his own end zone for a safety; that your running back does not fall over immediately upon receiving the hand off; and that your wide receivers do not blitz their own quarterback after he takes the shotgun snap.

Pray to Them, and Fear—always Fear!

Hey you are right, but our rules identify tackling a player when the defensive player hits the base of the offensive player directly in the front or the back (over 50%) of the base. That is judged as a true tackle. Otherwise if we played just touching the base as a tackle, we would not have gain any yards on most plays. Thanks again for your observation and comment!

Man...That was a fun game! Me and my buddies were almost in H.S. still playing that game. We almost got into fights over the outcome of games. We had to make rules and everything. I don't know if you guys knew...but, you can minipulate the small brushes on the bottom of the base to make the men go straight,turn left,or turn right. So, we use to travel/go over friends house with these men turned upside down on card board, so the greenbase never touch the surface unless it was on the field.
