really one of the worst records i've ever heard. Air have been continually slipping into sounding like the menu music on sky tv ever since they were first used as the background music for it. They're just elevator music now and not even in an eno sort of way.

Alpha Beta Gaga is a song that flows so well it never gets old. And you're right, it is more associated with space, but technically the whistling and overall setup of the song does follow a western theme.

I've always liked the original the best. The banjo, with the theremin and the perfect bass going on in the background, the guitar, the whistling, everything seems like it's executed perfectly. I'd like to see a remix that's more like the original. The Mark Ronson remix is the closest, but it was more adapted for vocals, and there's no banjo which makes it seem like there's something missing.
