  • Twenty years on from this and Mr. Murphy is just as vibrant and inspired! Get Ninth, it is definitely the BEST album of 2011!

  • this song gives me GOOSEBUMPS!

  • I love his words

  • Ummm.... OK, Im Good!!!!!...

  • Proof God's walk among the talking monkeys.

  • Explode secrete your tender wow awsome song

  • yum

  • If you want to hear the thunder in the morning Peter.....call me...........Lots and Lots of Love.....The Magnificent

  • The Hunger! 8D God I love Peter Murphy, or it looks like it could seriously work for the movie if indeed it wasn't on the soundtrack.

  • Peter's body of work far eclipses Bauhaus, yet his current set lists omits greats like this and 5 others I can think of to make room for Bauhaus covers and a NIN that is ok(hurt is seriously overated and over indulged)

  • I was happy keeping this all to myself! I have NO clue what anyone else was listening to. I was in RI, had WBRU, &indulged in MY music! 120 Mins was still on MTV (Ya know, when it was still "Music Television!"), & I could go to Club BabyHead & a handful of other Providence clubs to see Peter Murphy, Ian McCulloch, Live (when Mental Jewelry was 1st released), P.I.L., B.A.D., etc., etc., for about $5 & they'd give out Free CDs, too. Popularity alone NEVER signifies or changes quality!

  • I agree with you, edible. Their taste is usually crap. Murphy should have been the best ever.

  • mr. Murphy. WOW..WoW yeh..

  • A musica está cortada!

  • This is probably one of my faves by him..

  • I would not like this song if I didn't own the album (I didn't like it when I first heard it). I adore the Murphs, and I feel like this is just not his best .

  • @aenigma0regis0rises I did own the album and I still didn't like this song. It's many years since I listened to "Holy smoke", but I clearly remember liking only 2 songs. One of which was "Let me love you" and the other I think was called "Keep me from harm".

  • This is Peter Murphy very deliberately aiming for the American market and I would imagine in terms of record sales, missing by a mile. Apart from some really nice fretless bass guitar (Eddie Branch I think), this has very little going for it. The chorus is utterly laughable. For once the American record buying public got it absolutely correct.

  • @MisAnnThorpe silence

  • @morelgungo Absolutely! Couldn't agree with you more. Silence is infinitely preferable to listening to this. Btw, I'm a big Murphy fan but found "Holy smoke" Lp hugely disappointing. However "Dust", from 2002, more than makes up for it.

  • QUE SEXY!!! QUE SENSUAAAL!!! WOOW!!!

  • One of the most wonderful songs about morning sex.... or any kind of sex or romantic connection... *kisses*

  • Should have been a big hit. What the hell were people buying instead: Michael, Mariah, Madonna? Give me a break. Generally speaking, the American public has no taste in music.

  • @EdiblePlanets you have no taste Bieber rulz!

  • @EdiblePlanets So true!! This other music is cheap shit!

  • @EdiblePlanets most people were listening to grunge rock actually at that time

  • @EdiblePlanets Amen!!

  • @EdiblePlanets Hmph, I'd say Canada and the United States have BY FAR much better taste in music than Europeans do or wherever you're from haha.

  • So great, so sexy.

  • Perfection

  • *_________*

  • huuuuuuuuuuuur duuuuuuuuuuuuuur

    seriosuly.

  • he can take me anytime...so seductive!

  • What a sexy song. Peter Murphy sexy eyes and voice. He still sounds awesome today.
