Show me a video of Marine Corps recruit training that is dumbed down so people feel more inclined and safe to join. I haven't found one yet and that is because the Corps sells you the reality of a rough, disciplined existence.

Yeah, but you have to also realise that the US Army is about 10x larger than the Marines. Every Marine is built to be a fighter. But in the Army, it's not that way. They have **** loads of desk jobs, mechanical jobs, computer jobs, that need to be filled. With them being so much larger than the Marines, they can't afford to scare recruits away.

Dont forget, Army Infantry, and Scouts could run circles around Marines all day long. XD

oh and about my post i just posted, I'm an x-ranger, 75th Ranger Regiment. Rangers lead the way, I heard Marines comparing Marines and Rangers ALLLLL the time because deep down they know the "corps" cares more about the corps then the individual soldier, and obviously to anyone that has any sense in them that is wrong. I spent 14 weeks at Parris and got discharged soon after to sustaining a leg injury. I could have re-enlisted but I wanted to be hardcore so I went Rangers. HOOAH!

All of these video are horse and pony shows for the camera. I went to Ft Jackson and if you were taking too long to repel the DS was telling you what a waste of space you are. We didn't get encouragement from them until the last week of training. And yes, males do train with females there, but females get way more shit than the males. Just because most males are chauvinists, females have something to prove. Innocent until proven guilty right? HAH!

Tell you what, once the Air Force decides to actually train for combat, has Boot last for 13 weeks, keep up a constant level of stress in the environment, not act like a bunch of sissified faggots, deal with food and sleep deprivation for 3 months, and perform the undisputed toughest training out of any branch, will I say the Air Force has brutal training. This was at Ft. Jackson, the softest place to go through basic, and probably the only one where they'd ever coddle a recruit for the camera. Watch the discovery channel special about Marine Boot camp. Much better.

Discovery Channel's documentary on Marine Boot was slightly candy-coated, but not as much as this. Then again, Fort Jackson is where recruits train if they have a technical job, and I think 80% of female enlistees do basic there, so it's a bit softer because of those 2 factors.

I've been through Marine boot (discharged, medical) and am shipping out to Army basic in May. I have plans to make a full hands-on preparation website for Army basic and Marine boot, since I have experience from both.
