  • G'day Raymond it was great to catch up with you at the OCH, 2 days ago, pity the HKWMVC guys were still recovering from Beijing and could'nt join us. I am back in Australia now and looking forward to an aussie Xmas for a change. Thanks for posting this video, it was a great night, I only wish I had not forgotten to wear my HKWMVC red shirt.

  • Thanks, Steve. It was good to catch up with you again. I found out some of them were actually at the OCH a bit earlier but must have left before you and your friends arrived. Hope to see you some time in Australia. Keep up the singing.

  • What a great night it must have been. Thanks for the posting. Any more?

    Alex...

  • Two more coming. I've had computer problems so there's a bit of a delay.

  • Sung with "Gusto"... A great version of a great song...

  • High praise indeed, coming from such a fan of Mary Hopkin. I agree that Steve did a great job with this.

  • wonderful!!! when I was a little boy, it was my favourite song. it was sung by Dalida in frensh.

thanks so uch for this delicious memory,

  • Hi

    nondepouk...

Have you ever heard Mary Hopkin's French version? She too, does this classic chestnut justice. I believe she also recorded it in Italian,Spanish and German as well. Sir Paul Mac apparently wanted the song to be a true international hit.

Even though Mary Hopkin is Welsh,I don't think she would fit in very well with Raymond's fellow choir members...:)

    Peace,

    Stewball

  • We do sometimes do a concert with a women's choir or sing with a female guest performer at our annual ball. I'm sure she'd be very welcome! :-)

  • I don't think I've heard the French version. I'm sure it would work really well. It has a kind of French cabaret sound about it.

  • sounds like the crowd is really getting into it !! after drinks ?

  • Of course!

  • great song

  • Thanks. I'm glad we managed to capture it.

  • Hello

    Raymond...

I enjoyed this particular installment for it showed the choral members engaging in delightful musical merriment. Many thanks for sharing these video snippets from a very special gathering of music,,song, drink, merriment and mirth.

    Peace,

    Stewball

  • Glad you're enjoying this, Max. I have two more snippets to come.

  • This song makes me sad, after 40 years this is the alst song the Clancys sang :( but great video!!

  • They made a very appropriate choice with this song. The Clancys did a lot to popularise folk music. They've given us so much.

  • I really enjoy the video's that you post Raymond...

    Yea, those were the Day's

    5******

  • Thanks, Phyllis. These ones are a bit of a departure from what I usually put up.

  • It was a great evening. It's always fun when these guys get together.

  • looked like a good time!!
