@Brewhaman Definitely, Spring practice is 2 weeks away. Kovacs was 2nd in tackles last season and we have both injured senior corners back and most returning starters. Plus our coaches have a track record of shutting down the run and swarming pressure at every school they coach. If they can turn teams one dimensional with a balanced offense then we'll be the most improved while our rivals will be racing in the other direction. MSU is losing the bulk of last years starters, but ND will be better.

Not stopping it, they're going to get yards, but defending it! If I'm worried about any of our rivalry(s), it's ND. Yeah, MSU had their fun, not saying they'll be in the anals of the B10, but I see Nebraska finishing ahead of them this fall. You're right I agree, improve on Defense and the transition will be fine.

@Brewhaman With all the uncertainty around the buckeyes and Nebraska as an unknown I can only bet on Wisconsin to top out their half and make the Big Ten Championship Game. Iowa loses everyone, Sparty loses the offensive line and their defense, Penn State doesn't know who the QB is, and Michigan will be surprising teams. Unless Nebraska pulls a miracle turnaround they'll stumble next year with injuries again, so Wisconsin verses who? If Michigan picks up 1 or 2 that we dropped last year then us.

@Brewhaman Nebraska will likely drop 3 next year, with up to 6 losses possible, so if Michigan continues it's offensive momentum with a now improved defense and the most favorable schedule we've had in years we could win 7-8 again, but as many as 10-11 if the ball bounces our way so the last spot in the Big Ten Championship game could come down to us hosting Nebraska at seasons end with only 8 or 9 wins being the benchmark this season. I hope we do get to play Wisconsin next year then.

Neb. will lose 2-4 games based on youth, and a new conference and a new scheme, so why people choose them is astounding to me. I believe the Wolverines will win 8-9 games, possibly 10. "Your" school needs to win 13 more times straight, get 7 consecutive Big 10 titles, 6 Rose Bowls, and 4 National Championships just to tie us. Mattison was brought up under Jack Harbaugh, he founded the legendary Texas A&M "Wrecking Crew" defense from 89-91, helped establish the statistically greatest defense in college history the 91-97 Wolverines, moved to Notre Dame and top 10 rankings every season and joined Urban Meyer in Florida and built their 2 Championship team winning his 2nd year. @tbmike23 Yes, very solid coaching staff Hoke surrounded himself with, Good! This team is one of the closest ones I've ever seen at Michigan...they've been through a lot. With Hoke getting hired, he'll be able to teach these kids things even coach Rod didn't know about Michigan. I especially think he'll have the kids dialed up against that school in Ohio as well. ND has been dormant for a while,I really see them being a problem in the future too.Hopefully Mattison has an answer for that spread!

At UCLA they averaged 31 points per game every year, and 40+ points per game for 2 years. Later at Auburn he founded the Gulf Coast Offense going 13-0 his first season and 41-9 overall.

There is one thing that the state of Ohio does exceptionally well relative to the rest of the states in America and that is coach football. If you recruit a player out of Ohio, that player is almost guaranteed to have superior knowledge of the game and of their respective position to all the student athletes in the rest of the country. Ohio is an anomaly with that regard.
