That chassis will also make an excellent race car. If you put in a highly tuned Hayabusa engine and transmission and don't care that it will use more gas because of it you could have a seriously fast car.

Or a 2.0liter 4cylinder engine.

The low weight and the near negligible aero-dynamic drag. Will make it go.

Although electric motors have ALOT of torque throughout their power curve so this car will definitely be fun to drive anyway.

1.The diesel hybrids will get 300miles/gallon.

2. It has the safety structures of the small private aircrafts with airbags, crush zones and the seatbelts.

3. The strength of the crush zones are 1.5 or 2 times the strength of Federal standards for passenger vehicles.

4. It is classified as a motorcycle - SO YOU CAN DRIVE ON THE CARPOOL LANE WITH ONE PERSON! jaja but at the same time have 1.5 to 2 times the safety of a regular car.

i actually emailed aptera and they said they have plans for testing future models of the aptera for handling snow...

i would think probably a 4 wheel vehicle depending of coarse on how well the initial release of the car goes in california and prob will expand to state like arizona 1st...

my dad could definately use the range-extended model.

he has to drive over 100 miles per day in his car, which gets about 30 mph.

thats 1/10 of the gasoline use.

Too bad its will only be available in California. I hope they've considered contracting with Ford for production. Ford employees could use the work and the public and the environment could use the vehicle.

Congratulations to Steve and the folks at Aptera!!! It is so awesome to see this sort of vehicle on the horizon. The typ-1 should fill our streets today! Gas prices are only going to go higher as peak supply has already been surpassed. (search peak oil to learn more). Forget hydrogen, diesel, bio, etc. Electric will be the best solution... efficient, reliable, and existing infrastructure!!!
