I thought the one that is in the Philippines that has the same name but it was on air from 1970's to 1986. BBC 2 was the former name of ABS-CBN, which is the present-day name ^_^ hope not to confuse

Listen carefully to the woodpecker ident. You can hear a hint of the 2001-2007 ident music. I think in 2001, they based it on the woodpecker one.

Absolutley brilliant. Before the days of CGI syncronised swimming hippo's and the like. I remember someone writing into a show called 'how do they do that?' (hosted by Eammon Holmes in the 90's) and being amazed that all they did was tilt the camera to one side and spill paint over the '2'. Quality though, and I agree with everyone - bring it back!

I also wrote a letter back in november and they said they have put the idea into the log.

But if people keep on writing in to the bbc about the bbc 2 idents, then, maybe they might take note and change the idents back the 90/00 ones.:)

I agree. I e-mailed the BBC about the idents and said that most people seem to prefer the 1990s ones. I got a reply back that basically said they'd logged the information and all their logged information goes towards content broadcast in the future.
