These are fabulous songs. What has happened to ARR's creativity? He has become an assembler of noises and voices. His songs post-2000 are not of this standard, the accidental Oscar for a so-so composition badly sung (Jai Ho). Hope he re-captures the magic and creativity of the 1990s.

I've always felt that A.R's 90's songs are just slightly better...Not because he's making worse songs now or anything, which he definitely bloody isn't, but the kind of style and rhythm 90's songs had...just beautiful. BTW, I'm a teenager.

It's hard to pick out his best from the 90s. He made excellent songs in all genres - catharsis would not be an exaggeration. We could create a best 20 for each genre, and still find it daunting. Thanks for including Pennala Pennala (#13), it's a beautiful composition. Not many remember it. LOL to the Sithirai Nilavu video, what a spoiler!

This is a great compilation. I am glad you included 'chithirai nilavu' from Vandi cholai chinna rasu. That is such a wonderful number, yet under rated. Uyirum neeye from Pavithra would have been a good addition too.
