So sinister, so SNES, so 90s... this games soundtrack's what reminds me of my TV room as a kid, with my crazy-ass super nintendo games all over, crappy wood-paneled TV with that stupid VHS holder shelf that never opened.. and the music and sounds of games like this. LONG LIVE THE VIDEO GAME!
I love alot of this game's soundtrack, but I liked the first and cave themes better. It starts out awesome for me, but after that, it seems to keep changing its mind of what it wants to be. It's a decent song, but definately not my favorite.
this game has great music. sometimes I go to the sound test and listen to my fave ones while I lay on my bed. It's WAY too easy though.
I can beat the game in one sitting and then again on hard mode on the same day. my average deaths per game is 2. I decided to try and beat the game without healing. I only get just enough candles so that I can get the extended whip, then I dont grab any more hearts, money bags, meat, or sub weapons. so far I've made it to the third boss after two attempts
@RequiemOfNothingness I agree. To me, no other game can ever beat Super Castlevania IV! Graphics that still look good today(not that it matters), The best platforming controls of all time! A soundtrack that is so epic and well composed that I put it on my ipod! And, to me, this game has 1000 times more replay value than any other game! This is just the perfect video game! I say Long Live this game! Long Live Super Castlevania IV
God, this Castlevania is GREAT! You don't see games like this today, but I have to give it to Konami...they have maintained a top notch quality in the franchise, unlike the things that are happening with others like Sonic the Hedgehog (which became terrible). And it's not only Sega, Capcom fell in the same whole with Megaman, and Resident Evil was thrown into another genre, not more survival horror...
I remember I played this game for a week straight to beat it. I think its hardest of the Castlevania games. Damn some of these stages were frustrating.
Castlevania have a tendancy to reuse themes. Dance of the Holy Man (Simon Belmont's theme) reappears about 5 times. Bloody Tears and Vampire Killer are used almost too many times to count. Dance of Illusions (Dracula's Theme) is in about 6 games, The Sinking Old Sanctuary is in 2, Bloodlines (Richter Belmont's theme) reappears about 5 times, the list goes on.
A pretty stunning soundtrack, especially for one near the very beginning of SNES's life cycle. Really took advantage of all the system's sound capability right off the bat.
I remember this music and the room where the floor rose and if you were not fast enough you would get crushed. The tension I felt from that level I still feel today when I replay it.
Once again SupraDarky, You have made my day! This one of my favorite songs in the whole castlevania series. Some people might think this one's an "iffy" choice If they've never heard It before, But I heard this song in Castlevania: Circle of the Moon first so I was already familiar with it by the time I heard It in this game.
este song es mi favorito tambien. buenisimooooo

Damn, that box cover is badass. "Just be sure to tell your next of kin before you begin?" That's pretty hardcore.

Oh god... Super Castlevania IV is still, I think, the best of the platformer Castlevanias.
Although I unfortunately remember getting a little -too- good at it, so I traded it away.
I regretted it for years until it came out on the VC. T_T;

If you're sitting in a spinable computer chair, spin, spin, and spin some more.
Then listen to this when the room it rotating!
Sephiko 3 years ago 26
You'd have to spin while surrounded by lava lamps to get the full effect of the background in this level, I'm afraid. x]
TellCosy 2 years ago 2
I only have 2 lava lamps... but maybe it'll work. I'll wait till it's dark ;)

I love this song and I believe it should appear in future CVs. Is Clockwork Mansion the name of the second half or is it all part of one song?
WardogBLacky 3 years ago
This song is also called Clockwork Mansion. I think that was the name for Circle of the Moon.
SupraDarky 3 years ago
@WardogBLacky Well, it did appear in Circle of The Moon.
