In relation to wrong or correct stroke order for Chinese characters, where can be found the cannon for this matter? Are there any instruction on this in the ancient stone or wooden tablets models for example? Thank you.
I am not as well read as a calligrapher should be. A lot of the information I get regarding stroke order is from other calligraphers. One can evaluate their validity from their explanations. If many people disagree on a stroke order, I usually only get an explanation about one of the stroke orders, and so I follow that one. I also did some research myself, to verify others' explanations or to deduct the stroke order myself. I haven't read any materials that are dedicated to stroke order.
...Although the book 漢字筆順研究 by 黃靜吟 (ISBN 9579549540) might have some information, I haven't looked at it. From the description, it seems that the book tries to show the stroke order of the Qing Dynasty.
