  • Have you done much work with Benefit? Would you ever do a review? :) Love your videos!

  • ive tried the too faced eye primer, the urban decay primer potion, and mac paint pots. Unfortunately, will all these, my eyeshadows still creased & faded throughout the day. Any recommendations on what eye primer would stop this from happening?

  • WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT ELF COSMETICS EYE PRIMER? THANKS

  • I just purchased a Stila Prime Pot in Taffy.....it was around 20 US dollars....it kept the shadow really vibrant but it was somewhat hard to remove. Philosphy Purity cleanser is very gentle on eye makeup.

  • I use Make Up Academy (MUA) eye primer, it works really well for under £3

  • Comment removed

  • I am actually in love with you! Just discovered you whilst I'm supposed to be doing an all nighter essay. So technically I hate you. Lol ;) (and the winks at the ends of you videos- fab)

  • Have you tried the elf eye primer?

  • I use Stay don't stray by benefit and urban decay in sin. Those are my favorite and it may seem silly but I use the ud when I am doing something shimmery and the benefit when I am doing a matte shadow and it works really well.

  • Can you try the laura mercier eye basics???

  • For the record, 1 gram is equivalent to 1 mililitre. They are interchangeable when it comes to a lot of liquid compositions. Grams is often used to refer to products that are less fluid, and mililitres for ones that are more liquidy. =)

  • The Too Faced Shadow Insurance is my absolute favourite!! Love the colour, texture, tube (so you can get it all out) and it makes my eye makeup colours brighter and lasts all day/night = AMAZING > Nars and UD in my opinion. :-)

  • I tend to prefer Too Faced's Shadow Insurance over UD's Primer Potion.

  • do you think we can use concealers for eye base?

  • Grams refers to mass, and ml's refer to volume. When talking about pure water, mls=grams. That is, 1 ml of water will equal 1 gram (though this varies a bit depending on water temp). Liquids can generally use this same model, substituting mls for grams (and vice versa), but this will be more accurate the less viscous the substance is (the more solid the substance, the less reliable the conversion).

I realize this was almost completely beyond the point of this video :o)

  • OMG!!! love love love your videos.. thanks so much

  • Im shocked you didnt mention LORAC! its amazing :D you can find that at sephora :)

  • I've tried a bunch of concealers and still get creasing. Could u please give me some advice on why this is happening. I've tried decreasing and increasing the amount of product used. I have UDPP, 2faced shadow ins, smashbox, nyx hd, l'oreal decrease. I've gotten the benefit ceaseless and the maybelline tattoo shadows. If there is some technique or something I could try I would be eternally grateful. Thank you.

  • Hey! for my daily routine I just apply my eyeshadow onto my eyelid with no prep what so ever, and by the time its the end of the day all the eyeshadow is bought down underneath my eyes- which isnt a great look- will primers prevent this? How can I stop this from happening?xxx

  • @xzoeeyli yes, primers will help prevent this, to a certain extent of course, my eyeshadow stays on from 10am till 8pm with eye primer

  • I love the sound of that Lime Crime stuff! I use Vital Radiance Eye primer mousse (Revlon), and I swear by it, I don't think they do darker shades of it though. You're right, women who are darker don't tend to get much attention in terms of make up primers and stuff. I'm sallow skinned, but that is annoying, you'd think in the 21st century there would be more out there. Darker skin is beautiful too! :)

  • 1ml of liquid is usually around 1g :)

  • Love the spill about darker girls n will be tryin nyx, thanks for, the, cheaper alternative

  • Just suscribed to your channel. I really like the way you explain stuff that I wish were explained to me eons ago (like pressing in your pressed powder with a brush and then knocking it off instead of sweeping it all around). Back to this vid, I'd love to know what you think of the Estee Lauder Primer.

  • the nyx primer isn't too great for me, i do like it and it'll get the job done but sometimes i double up how much i put on because it's not as creamy as other primers.

  • stila prime pot

  • I love that you are always mentioning products for women of color. You are adorable..oh, and really helpful videos too.

  • I have the Two-faced shadow insurance, I love it! The only bad thing is that the product get stuck to the nozzle alot... :L xD

  • i like NYX, E.L.F and urband decay primer potion

  • can I get the limecrime makeup from the site you linked, in US dollars?

  • Love your top 5!! In my opinion this is the best because i can't decided what brand of primer i would buy!! In my country i can find only the too faced primer, elf mineral and the nyx hd primer. I will buy the nyx one. Thanks!!

  • I like the NYX in the pot :) in skintone

  • I bought the Lime Crime because of your rave. For me, it's an absolute no-go. I can say that my shadow does not crease when using it but that is only because my eyeshadow fades away completely in about 3 hours (i.e. there's nothing left TO crease).

For me, the original UDPP (not the stuff in the new squeeze tube) remains the gold standard . Since that's no longer available, NARS is now my #1 favorite with TFSI being #2.

Thanks for all the great videos. I have learned a lot from them!

    xoxo

  • You can't calculate the weight from volume without knowing the density. Mass=density multiplied by volume. 1g=1ml goes for pure water only. Great vid by the way :)

  • Love that you always, always take into account darker skin tones in everything you do. You are a true make-up artist. Thanks for pointing out some important facts. Brands take note!

  • You're on the lime crime website now under this primer :p

  • Urban decay is my ultimate fave

  • Elf! its and amazing, amazing Urban Decay duplicate!! and its sooo inexpensive

  • The MAC paintpots are great because they work well and do come in more color options like you mentioned! Love your videos

  • I bought the Lime Crime base after seeing your review and I agree, it is great. I use coconut oil to get it off...not a problem . Thanks for the tip!

  • this is a funny video...so real thnx

  • I had the mini UD primer from my naked pallet. I was amazed at how much product I got out after cut it open. (I thought I had run out.)

  • Gramms and Ml are the same! so 10gr=10ml

bottom line, you get more from urban decay primer potion

  • U r so cute

  • THE MAC PAINT POTS ARE VERY GOOD I JUST STARTED USING IT AND I REALLY LIKE IT BUT I STILL USE ANOTHER PRIMER OVER IT. SHOULD I DO THAT TO MAKE IT LAST LONGER. GET BACK TO ME ON THAT ONE. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE THAT THANK YOU XOXOLYNETTE3232

  • @lynette3232 most of the time you shouldnt really need a primer with the paint pots...they act as a base colour,or even a stand alone colour. but if you do need a one, definatly pop the primer on first then the paint pot so it grips to the skin.....using it on top wont give u the best results

  • Amazing

  • I think the elf one is AMa

  • youlook so sexy on this vid c:

  • Love your reviews- def. my go-to guy, and...You're right leaving women/men of color out IS bollocks!

  • I love your vids. I'm a lady of color and love your recognition on products that tend to leave women of color out. I really enjoy watching your reviews. Keep up the good work

  • Dang your hott!

  • Comment removed

  • You said "ass"! :D

  • I like these primers for different reasons, the UDPP, I use on myself, the Two face squeeze tube is great when i want to avoid cross contamination when I have multiple users, but for the most part I use whatever is at hand.

  • I would love if you could do a makeup application video on a darker skinned (african american) woman.

  • I think it is super sweet how you always mention your disappointment at the lack products for woman of colour as you say, I can't imagine how frustrating it could be at times for woman with darker skin to shop for cosmetics. You have a lovely personality :)

  • @BonBon0889 so true!

  • Yay! I just ordered the NYX one! I wonder how it will compare to my elf mineral primer...

  • I have the gosh Eyeshadow Primer waterproof. I am using it for already 3 monds and in my opinion its a amazing primer

  • How about Elf's eye primer or Mac's primer? I feel like getting the NYX primer after watching this! It was so helpful, thanks so much!

  • You can't know your gram between your mls. You really cant convert ml to grams, because ml is a unit of volume and gram is a unit of mass. So it depends what is the density. For water ofcourse it is 1ml - 1 g, but not for other things.

  • Have you tried the really cheap Jordana eye primer base?

  • Did the Lime Crime review you're talking about ever get posted? Can't seem to find it...

  • Your voice is so refreshing..your presentation is fresh and simple....i love it!

  • wow! Mr.Wayne your freakin' hot in this tutorial :)

  • I love how you mention us darker folks and our issues with a limited selection sometimes, really glad to know people are thinking about us ^_^

  • i love ur channel

  • I lyk that u considered "women ov colour" :) and wud love if u cud gve tipz 4 dark skin durin tutorials if ur aware of how a technique myt differ etc

  • @ladyiec what the fuck

  • Where can you buy the last primer you showed in this video.

  • ART DECO eye shadow base - my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE! Keeps shadows in the right place AND can be removed with a liquid eye make up remover which is v. important for me, as I hate the idea of having to RUB my eyes ( I can imagine all the wrinkles I produce this way.) ART DECO comes in a tiny pot that lasts FOREVER, has a creamy texture but there's no danger of using too much; beige in the pot, seems slightly shimmery, but comes completely nude on the eyelids.

    RECOMMEND TO ALL :)

  • @DwaKsiezyce

True that! ^^ I have it too and so does my mom, we both love this stuff! I recommend it as well ^^b

  • I just bought ulta professional primer. It comes in a pot which I like but I havent tried it just yet, ill let u know how it goes...

  • Try ELF Mineral Eye primer, for the price it's at least worth a try!!!!!

  • IM IN LOVE WITH YOU.............

  • The lime crime rocks!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm surprised you didn't mention Artdeco one, I must check out Too Faced one

  • You should try the ELF Eyelid Primer. We use it all the time and the eyeshadow stays on for ages.

  • I'm loving your videos, very clear and concise with a great personality to boot. Think I'm crushing on you a bit right now. Thanks for the reviews.

  • 1ml of water = 1g in weight

Not sure if the same is true for cream products - but it's a good as a rough guideline.

  • Oh my gosh! I just subscribed like 20 minutes ago and I'm making my way through your vids, and I don't think you know how funny u are! Well you are to me at least;-) your personality is just so raw and unguarded, when I watch ur vids I'm either giggling or busting up laughing. The whole hair thing, and the "rubbing away" I love it, you make me smile.thank you!

  • I love this video, because I've been searching for the best shadow primers, so thank you, Wayne, for that. Plus, you look amazing in this one. :)

  • i use the nyx hd one and it's 5/5.

i used art deco and urban decay before.

  • I have to say that I am absolutely in love with the Lime Crime primer for myself. I have incredibly oily eyelids and this is the ONLY primer I have ever used that will not crease, ever. I have worn it for up to 16 hours straight and my eye make up looks the same as when I applied it. I do agree they need to do another color,as this goes on pretty light. As mentioned though,I am putting shadow over it so not a big concern. I bought a 2nd one the day after I tried it.

  • I was loving this video until you mentioned Lime Crime. Doe Deere, the owner of that company, is such a fraud.

  • I love the Lime Crime Base !! :)

  • Metric Conversion: gram vs ml One refers to weight and the other to volume. It's not really a fair comparison as one is liquid and the other mass.

Volume : 1 fluid ounce = 28.4 mls (usually rounded to 30 mls)

Weight: 1 ounce = 28.3 grams So it would be the difference of comparing the volume of a quart of milk to the wieght of a pound of sugar:)

    Hope that helps!

  • For older women whose eyes are wrinkled/crepey, UD dries tight & waxy so it accentuates this. Lorac is great for this & dry eye skin as well, especially in the colder months, & it's a real $ value compared to the others. Benefit's Stay Don't Stray is my current 2nd for summer weather when I don't need something as emollient as Lorac; really needs to be in tube form. For real matte grabbing power Pixy Epoxy is great -- very similar to Nars, but Nars stinks for dry lids. How's LC for dry eyelids?

  • try the lorac one its amazing.

  • the E.L.F mineral (NOT the normal one) eyeshedow primer is also very good in my opinion...

    love your channel!!

  • in terms of eye primers...I like Lemon Aid by Benefit the best :D

  • Great Review!!!

    xoxoxoxo

  • a minute ago; I've just purchased LIME CRIME EYESHADOW HELPER. Thank you.. I'll try it out.

  • can you please do a review about the best fake eyelashes, so that we can learn some few tips from you Mr. Wayne??

  • L'oreal De-Crease shows color beautifully and keeps my oily lids, not oily, all day. 7-8 US dollars for a healthy sized tubed w/sponge tip wand.

  • 1 milliliter = 1 gram(water)

  • I like the ELF ones, of the normal or the mineral line, it doesn't matter to me.

They are a great value, lot of produt for less money.

    Thanks for your videos!

  • its funny... a man is so much better at makeup than me!!! if i was a married man! i think my wife would be a bit worried about me!!!!

  • i dont know if its just me or what but i prefer the old packaging of udpp over the new squeezy tube. i feel that the formula has a tiny bit more of a watery consistency when it is in the squeeze tube. I have had problems with creasing when using the new packaging when i never had creasing problems with the old bottle

  • I love how you always put Colored people into consideration. Thank you for that. <3

  • Thank you so much for your concern of WOC and colors that are needed for them. Thank you... You are the greatest. LOL....Love and learn s much from you videos.

  • @thunder11014

As a woman of colour I second that!!

  • makes me all the more excited about deciding to buy UD and NYX, which are on their way to my doorstep now :-)

  • u look u so dam cute :)

  • Eeek, Lime Crime? After all the mass drama I've heard about them, I'll stick to my NYX eyeshadow base and UDPP, thank you :P

  • could u please do a review on elf eyelid primer becoz it apparently as good as UD primer potion so pleez clear up or approve this myth thanx!

  • grams and ml are the same amount..:)

  • Comment removed

  • Iam having problems with my too faced primer its really oily even after I shake it ? Dont get me wrong I do like it because it a tube so.that makes it a lot better. value for money but I would probably buy urban decay next time x

  • NARS works best for oily eyelids. The rest of my make-up may slide down but my eyes look perfect all day. Wish they made a face primer like that. x

  • MAC paint pot also works fine as primers, sometimes it is nice to have e.g. a purple, blue, green or black primer, and i find these classic paint pots to do the trick! Never had a better looking and better lasting smoky eye.. It even stays put the morning after (!)

  • love u

  • The elf mineral eyeshadow primer is good too if you're on a budget for £3! :)

  • Hi, Goss. I think that Lorac eyeprimer is also awesome. It is creamy and really allows one to apply eyeshadow with ease. It is the perfect base for a wonderful smokey eye.

  • You know a LOT of things about make up! I wanna be married to you.. ;-P

  • aloha, have u ever tried the e.l.f. eye shadow primer...it's dirt cheap, but i go through it like water. so after watching a review on it i decided to try it...and for under 3 bucks (shipping included to hawaii) i'm in love...i would prefer urban decay, but for under 3 bucks...it stops creasing all day long even with my slightly hooded eyelids, and pops the colors as well...please let me know (if at all possible) what you think of it...am i just in budget bliss, or am i truly on to something?

  • My fav is Urban Decay's primer potion, but I also hate the shape of the bottle since I always try to get the last bit all the way in the bottom:(

  • what are the disadvantages of using paints for primer? a long time ago I was unhappy with using urban decay, especially since it has a yellowish tinge (to me) and yellow things look horrible on my skin. so i bought a bobby brown paint pot and a mac paint, both in a ballet slipper hue and have been rotating them out to use as an eye shadow base ever since. i really like how they are not greasy or pasty. am i missing out by not using a primer?

  • You are the best, I love you..

  • Can you please do top FACE primers?? That would be awesome! Thanks

  • Thank you for always considering women of all skin colors. Some of these cosmetic companies should take note. Love your reviews as you are always honest and not afraid to tell the truth.

  • I use the nars one and i love it, i think it works really well.

  • It's so nice that you're not a product snob and recommend lower ended products for those of us who choose not to spend the big bucks.

  • A product that is decent and decently priced here in America is Loreal De-Crease. It's very similar to Urban Decay Primer Potion and it's only $9 or 5 pounds for .2oz of product. Which I know doesn't seem like a lot of product. But even with a lot of use. It goes a long way.

  • LA SPLASH Eye Shadow Sealer or Base. It even holds glitter! I don't believe is the best one but is a great value and is colourless.

    PS: I love ur videos!

  • Hi :D What do you think about lemon aid by benefit? Thanks.

  • for me the ARTDECO one is the eye primer of all time - I have just purchased my 3rd pot. Have you ever used it?

  • you inspired me with all these primers. but could you open them to show how the brush looks like...or how the texture is?

  • I am disgusted that you came on camera with flat hair.... ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @TurtlesDoNotHaveFur Having said that, I have noticed that a lot of make up is for more of a tanned skin tone rather than darker which is unfair. I think there is one store in my local town which does actually stock make up for women with a darker skin tone (and hair products as well) but I am not sure of the prices.

  • @Violi666 revlon colorstay has some light foundation colors. I'm told they even have lighter colors than MAC and they are just as good and maybe better. Check out on ebay REVLON COLORSTAY u'll love it! I bought mine for 6 USD

  • @jikaira Thanks for the tip, I'm usually very unsure about buying foundations online, but I will have a look at the Revlon stands next time I am out to see if I can match one to my skin tone and then I will go to ebay to see if I can find it there lol :D

  • @TurtlesDoNotHaveFur I have to disagree with the foundation comment, I am extremely pale and I find it hard finding foundation to suit my skin colour, I know MAC have one in my skin tone (NC15) but as I am on a budget I can't spend so much money on make up (even though I want to) the only foundation I have found (and it took a long time) is GOSH X-ceptional wear in Porcelain, any other brand has always been too orange even when testing the lightest shade.

  • @Violi666 check out Revlon Colorstay - and also if it helps, I make a few videos and u can at least see the colour of my skin - realllly fair. Revlon Colorstay is by far the closest match I have even found! :) hope it helps

  • Laura Mercier Eye Basics .Good texture;great shades to match even the lightest skin tones;eye shadows stay true to their coloours & just dont budge :O)

  • i heard that the l'oreal decrease was also a great eyeshadow primer and it's from the drugstore as well :) great video as always :D

  • YES I have another one!! Benefit Stay Don't Stray! And in my opinion it also conceals! I use it on my eyelid as well as under my eyes and although it's not marketed to conceal, when i use this i can skip concealer! use it and let me know what you think! :D

  • As far as grams to millileters goes, one gram of water is equal to one millileter of water. Metric mass and thermodynamics are all based on water. :)

  • Love your posts! Lancome has Aquatic... nude in shade and comes in glass pot. No range for color, but does cover veins and dark lids on caucasian women. About 24.00 US dollars and will last forever, (well a good long while). I'm looking forward to picking up your favorite to give a go for shoots and such.

    Thanks,

    Susan, MUA

  • I use now for many years the UDPP,and i love it ! Thanks Wayne for another great & honest review...and thanks for thé wink. ;-) lol xxx

  • All of your videos are so informative! I'm glad MAC paint pots didn't make your list of top 5 eye primers; I think they're overly-hyped here on YT. I don't know if you've tried Lorac's eye primer, but it's pretty much the product you get if UDPP and TFSI were to make babies -- highly recommend!

  • will you marry me?

  • have e ever heard of ART DECO, i use an eye primer as well as other make up made by them, its a german company, we dont have any other famous make up companys such as MAC and such in the Balkans, very limited with a lot of things! But they say this german company is one of the best here and i have to say im not disappointing! just wondering if u have heard of them...

  • How about one which price is nice and works great ELF eyeshadow primer for 1$,

  • Holy gosh you are amazing. Even the little thing you said about considering ladies of colour with the eyeshadow primer - not pretentious at all, just spot on.

  • very cool video

  • Goshhh i absolutelyy lOveeee ur videos!!! You aree awesomeee -3

  • Did you try Loreal's DeCrease primer? Would love to know your opinion on it..

  • <3

  • Wayne, you did not mention MAC Paint Pots! The shade "Painterly" is the best eye primer I can imagine for Caucasians (=light skin). There are darker shades which work for people with darker skin. It never creases and creates a lovely canvas. Paint pot made me start with eyeshadow again, after having been fed up because everything ended up in my crease.

Please, give Paint Pot it a try! And it is a great team with the 217 brush. One more reason to love it. (No, I am not from MAC ;-)

  • @ratherthanfacebook - i think its because the strictly not a primer, its a cream eye shadow that be used as a base, by itself or layered on.

  • Another hit wayne

  • I love your videos. Short and straight to the point yet, informative.

  • i would try the Lime Crime primer, but after the whole controversy about them repackaging eyeshadow of other brands and selling them for triple the price.

    no thank you.

if you want to read the full story go to google, type "lime crime repackaging" and click one of the first 3 links that show up, the post is very long and detailed, so please read it whole if you want to be able to know the full story.

  • @wendyaleks90 Totally agree. They're a horrible company. Have you read the threatening letters they sent to that blogger? AHEHH.

  • @XoXoSakuraKissXoXo Yes I've read them, the worst bit for me was when they wanted to sue someone over them saying on their blog that she thinks lime crime is repackaging, how can you do something like this to someone. The girl that created Lime Crime even created few videos of her trying to prove that they are making their eyeshadows by themselves. She was denying it completely, saying everyone is against her blah blah, and then at the end she admitted to repackaging. WTH!

  • @wendyaleks90 sorry i didn't wanna sound aggressive =P

  • @wendyaleks90 Don't worry. You didn't sound aggressive :D

  • @wendyaleks90 but this is just about the eyeshadow's colours, isn't it? Or did the same thing happen to the primer ?

  • @Ix3LindsayLohan yes the repackaging issue was ONLY about the eyeshadows. However my issue with this company is NOT about the eyeshadows, but how Doe Deer (owner of LC) was for weeks threatening to sue a blogger for saying that their eyeshadows are identical to other company's. Then she started a war against everyone who tried to investigate this situation, saying that everyone is being against her BLAH BLAH. That's what I'm against LC, I'm not going to spend my own money on someone like this.

  • Comment removed

  • @xpinkpower yes there was an evidence, every eyeshadow that was identical in colour had the same ingrediance listen on the package also after few months Lime Crime said that they are infact repackaging their eyeshadows. When did i say that they are repackaging primers? I even said in my last post that they ONLY repacked eyeshadows. Lear to read, and let people say their opinions. Amazing brand? Hello? She wanted to SUE someone because they wrote their honest opinion on their own blog...chill man

  • @wendyaleks90 whaaaaaat really?
