I like the concept behind this, but I do have to ask, wouldin't the 7.62x25 mm round have worked the same as this? I just wonder if it wouldin't have been more cost efficient to use an existing round, and perhaps just change the bullet type? I ask because I know that the 7.62x25 can pierce alot of armor other pistol bullets cannot.
I'm absolutely knocked out of my chair by the possibilities of this round.
I sure wish VBR could get this to be a standardized caliber world wide, I'd especially love to see factory glocks chambered for it. Imagine a glock 19 in this round, imagine the capacity and the recoil! With a properly designed bullet this could really be the end-all of defensive calibers.
@papaburger The video I saw, the projectiles were being demonstrated using a Glock 17. Look up the vbr glock 17 7.92x24 C2FS cartridge video.. I think you can just copy and paste that.
@droppen100 ....you need to update your mindset regarding current advances in cartridge design which means if a new cartridge is better than your grandpa's 9mm luger/parabelllum or .45acp then it's not just a passing fad. this 2-piece bullet system is better than one jhp.
You're just making yourself sound more retarded. I mean, look at all the hate messages people have been sending you. And judging from just those, I could tell you're pretty thick.
yep I agree, those hate messages will follow along if you post your personal opinion on youtube but I have learned to accept that, stupid kids such as yourself will always feel the need to post pointless hate towards an honest statement or question, no matter how true it is.
My original question was fairly simple yet you had to answer it with such an ignorant and insulting answer... and yet you tell me that i'm thick headed? you have just proved my point, you're one of the ignorant kids.
Your original question had neither opinion nor honest interest in the product. A polite answer can't be expected from a question asked rudely. And still, thus far, you've only really proved that you're an uneducated douche bag.
The 7.92x24 mm caliber is made for weaker persons or for weapons which need a low recoil for better accuracy. If you consider a 1911 in the .45 caliber as a perfectly good weapon?...then you are not a physical weak person!!! The 7.92x24 mm is special suitable for young recruits for a military or police academy, skinny build women, small persons, senior shooters and wounded veterans
@VBR792 Hey I've looked at this rifle round called the 7.92x33 kruz and according to this book its overall length is about 1.6 inches smaller than some magnum rounds in the Desert Eagle, I've never held the 7.92x33 and the Wikipedia site states that its overall length is 1.9 inches what I'm getting at is maybe you can test it out as a pistol round if its length really is 1.6 inches.
@futureF35pilot the 7.92mm kurtz was the worldsfirst assault fifle round it was used in the STG-44 used by the germans near the end of WW2 it is a bottle necked rifle round but I supose a ridiculosly impractical pistol like the Desert Eagle could probably handle it though it is a pretty rare round so there isnt much of a market for guns that shoot it
but why would you want to change a perfectly good glock or colt 1911 to chamber a round that is not very common in the U.S. and has less stopping power at short to medium range?
One could easily make a magnum version of the same caliber by taking any 223 casing and cutting it down to the same length...then ream the inside to fit the 7.92mm projectile.
Add some Hodgdon's H110 magnum powder and voila...instant +++++++++P

Power is not a requirement if you can hit what you shoot at.

Stopping power is what you need!!! So use 9mm or 11,43mm and don`t fuck your brain.

So is this the same deal as the 4.6 and 5.7mm in terms of only military and law enforcement getting the "full powered" cartridges?

negative, how would you know if I had an ineterest or not? I obviously did since I ASKED THE QUESTION IN THE FIRST PLACE! DUUUUUR..........
I'd still prefer the standard copper/lead over of this crap, it's just like the 5.7, useless from a semi auto pistol.
