Thanks for your vids! Quick question: What do u think about the devilbiss finish line HVLP guns? Worth getting to do a couple of first time paint jobs and touch ups? I can spend up to 300 bux. I'd like to start off with a good gun unless you think thats too difficult to learn with a good gun to start with? Also, break down the tips of the guns you use for shooting base, clear, primer and sealer. Thanks and I'll keep watching!!!
@supersport2778 Good guns are easier to use. I have not used Finish line. I would recommend the Tekna Copper. Comes with 2 tips 1.2/1.3 or 1.3/1.4 and digital regulator. You could spray everything through it. I would buy a cheap $20 gun for primer w/ a 1.8 tip
@mcqueenpaint Thanks! I will look into that copper one. I see the favorites are sata and Iwata, but one guy said he didnt like the sata as it shoots out too much material/paint for his taste. I guess once youve tried them all, u can catch the little differences. When you can, tell us whats your favorite guns and why. And do most guys shoot base with 1.3 and clear 1.4 tips? I see mixed opinions and styles out there.
Thanks! Hope u put out a new video soon =). Thanks bro!
@supersport2778 I will, You asked about tips and its all preference. You can use a 1.2,1.3,1.4 for base or clear. I can spray the same with all three. I just move faster the higher the number. The SATA is a fast gun(puts out alot of material). That's why production guys like it so much. Gets the job done quick. Thanks and hope it helped
I got a question about the cheap spray guns. At my local hardware store i can buy one for 20$ with only the paint control knob and one for 50$ with a paint control and an air control knob. Now i want to paint primer with the gun, would the cheap gun be all right for that or would you say no you better get the more expensive model?
How do you feel about the 100$ spray gun lowes sells. Its a kobalt hvlp. Should i spray primer, base or clear with this gun. I have used single stage paint and i loved the results. Just wondering what should i use this gun for so i can buy another for something else.
hi,i'm just starting so i'm looking at the sharpe fx3000 i found a few on ebay, but they come with different tip and just one, from 1.3 to 1.8 what woud you recomend
Eastwood company touts their guns as only needed 4 cfm - would you consider these worth the price if one only has a small air compressor but wants to do a large car? i only have a 30 gallon 6cfm compressor (thinkin bout buyin a cheapo harbor freight 60 gallon, which is actually just a belaire rebrand). also, would you recommend the devilbiss guns? i can get a 3 gun kit for under 200$. i have a TCP global 3 gun kit, but i've only shot primer with it... thinkin i might try SS urethane first?
yeah i just want it to maybe spray Bicycles, Motorcycles, Plastic Car Models, stuff like that...also, i have a Craftsman 3 gallon 1.25 horse air compressor with Regulator...do i Need the Reg on the guns too? and is that enough compression for something like that?
@MommyBird10 yeah you should get at least 1 reg. for the guns. You can switch it over to whatever gun you are using to save money. You should be fine with the air compressor on the small stuff, you might need something bigger for Motorcycles.
Have you thought about making a video about how to clean your paint guns and equipment, bet there would be some folks like to see that, I would be one of them
@chaloguate One of the many things I have learned is there are a bunch of different ways to get the same end result. It's up to you what you want to use to make the job quality with speed. I still learn everyday and will continue to share. Thanks for the comment bro
@Younkster11 your supposed to run it at its recommended pressure (whatever the gun manufacturer says). But some guys at work (including me) go a couple psi above or below depending on what we are doing. Thanks for watching
@bunn1989 Iwata LPH400, Iwata Super nova, Sata jet 3000 or 4000, Devilbiss GTI, Devilbiss Tekna or whatever is in your budget. Just remember that you get what you pay for. You could also find these used on ebay for cheap. Thanks for watching
Is it possable for you to make a vido showing how to setup a good spray pattern for Metalic Base coat and Clear coat. I cant find any profesional videos showing you atomisation...
I seem to be getting it wrong, I seem to endup with a very Sarkly paint and lighter color even though the paint has been matched with the old panel.
@PeterFalconII I plan on doing a spray video on these guns so you can see the differences. The setup I show in this video is the way we spray everything.
It sounds like you are putting it on to dry. Tighten up your overlap and get a closer to the panel. Make sure the base is wetting up on your coats especially with pearls and metallic . Thanks
@luck14ful Any of these guns will do the job. The more money you spend on a gun the better it will lay down the paint and the less wet sanding and buffing you will have to do when it dries. I have never used a finishline but I'm sure it will be fine. The FX3000 is just better than one you would get at Harbor Freight. Just practice on a little scrap piece of metal first. Keep your overlap consistent. Thanks for watching
@jbascomb1 sorry, my inbox isn't alerting me of questions. I would by the new Tekna Copper Gun and ask your local paint store about the paint as I don't know what they carry. Its good to get paint local first and then you can go online when you get the feel for amounts to order. I like Dupont, Standox, House of Kolor and a few others
great videos ... I live in Brazil and do not have many resources here ... Would you recommend the finex FX3000 for base coat and clear coat? sorry for bad english
@tadeuganzella Yes, But only if your on a tight budget. Get the SATA or Iwata If you want to do this as a hobby or job. You can use those for base and clear as well. Your English is perfect and thanks for watching
@tadeuganzella I also Heard that the new DeVilbiss TEKNA Guns are also really good spray guns and they are supposed to be a little cheaper than Sata or Iwata. Thanks

do you have any objections to a 4 piece VAPER spray set???
MommyBird10 6 months ago
@MommyBird10 They will work O.K. for small stuff like Motorcycle's or guitars. You will probably hate them if you tried spraying a whole car.
