I think we are missing a whole lot of history here. When the white arrived in s.a they where educated people and the black were strange to them as they were hunters and lived in huts made of mud. The Dutch started colonizing in SA, because it was a through route to India for trading, the "Cape of Good hope". It was a so called "half-way house" for them when travelling to India. Coal, toruism and finances are the other main industries. They also make a decent amount of money off of soda ash and light manufacturing(Hyundai assembled cars there until 1999, and there are a few plants still operated there by other companies, Scania among them).

There has always been rich blacks aswell in the appartheid area, just they do their business sideline with their own people, and they do not believe to help their poor, they will step over them even if they are dying of hunger. Whites have just about had enough of black (ANC) arrogance in South Africa. Let me tell you something. Since apartheid ended, non whites in South Africa have been given more rights than they had before 1994. However, the people that were poor then are still poor now because they have never been educated and they don't know how to get a good education. But as for the white supremacy, that is gone and there is no legal segregation in South Africa anymore.
