Why can't they just port the snes version? Don't make any sense and why are they changing the dialog? Do they have to dumb it down for a dumber generation of gamer?
@toamna1 No. Back during the NES days, they didn't release all final fantasy games in the US. They only released FF1, FF4, and FF6. They called FF6 number three to avoid confusion back then.
@kylesico912 Under rated? This game, for all the mgames magazines and for all the fans of the FF series, FF Vi is the best FF ever made and is proved. It's not under rated man.
It was a dumb decision at Square/Nintendo to name America Final Fantasy II and III differently than Japan. They later released them revised as their true names. So, only the old school gamers that play'ed it under the name Final Fantasy III :-/
@Zerolimiter402 theres more final fantasy games then just usa 1 2 3 in japan they had more final fantasys for the nes 2 more infact and 1 more for the snes
The SNES version isn't any different, the PSX version is technically the best since it fixed minor tweaks and has cg scenes. However I do prefer SNES

Very good game, but it's sad that of all the different versions of this game, the SNES one is still the superior game.

FF VIII > FF X > FF VII = FF VI > FF IX
FF X-2 is out of this because it's just for the fans (as me) who cried at the end of FF X because it wasn't an happy ending.
When you understand the history of FF VIII you can put it on the first place.
Rinoa = Ultimecia. Temporal buckle etc... write on Google "Rinoa = Ultimecia" and read the theorys.
FF XII and FF XIII haven't tour by tour. So for me, that's not a real fantasys

it might have been called 3 in the states previously, but they released a gpa and playstation with it renamed 6.
