there are no real values in the glasses, face, clothing, hair.... the values you choose are about 4-5 shades.... Thats it. Its a good lay in but you shouldn't have stopped. You should have kepts going, finding reflecting light strokes, shadows. You could have done WAYYYYYY better. dont stop half way!

Not bad, but I took the same picture, placed it in my scanner and hey presto, a full colour image just like the original. No messy pencils or pads, it's the way of the future.

I dont see the shades on ur drawing like in the original photo.The sunglasses needed alot more work, no offense, u just have to keep practicing.But dont think that ur already the best becuz some people say its really nice done but if u check youtube u have alot more of talented users here.

Alot of people may say you don't have enough detail in that drawing, but I would just like to say that you did a fantastic job and the drawing looks amazing. If people say you need more detail then they should provide a link to their drawings that are better. Keep up the good work mate, very nice drawing.

dont take this the wrong way, but in an high school art class, 90% of them will draw the same as you, try to discover how to draw beautifully , it doesnt mean u have to cover every "whiteness" of the picture ;p

drawing does not involve copying every object , u can remove objects or add objects to enchance the drawing , take for instant the blue pants u drew, it kind of gets in the way becus it is a large black mass below the actual focus of the subjects

I actually agree. Its just that as you develop your skill you won't have to smudge to create tone because you can just do it with the pencil alone. Its a well known fact that smudging is slightly looked down on by art critiques but you will get there soon because you obviously have a lot of talent.
