Late responce, I know, but I'm sure it's because it's hard to sum up the plot of the game. In fact, it would be kind of a spoiler to say what the game is about in an overall sence. It mostly revolves around a war in the past with genetically modified soldiers. Xenosaga takes place in the distant future, though, and this "past war" is still way in the future. The games are VERY plot heavy, so keep that in mind if you don't like a lot of talking in your RPG's.

@redwaller66 late response. trust me, xenosaga 3 is a must play game. not jsut that the game is fun but the story and music is very beutifull. this game has a lot of very touching stories. sad ending. but very nice and beutifull. if its impposible for you to play this game at least check out Xenosaga 3 ending on youtube.

the storyline is first about shion uzuki along with her staff to reasearch something about the andriod named kos mos wich is used to combat a group of dimensional aliens known as the gnosis. like xenogears this plot is heavy!!!
