  • I was watching Clark Howard talk about the Leaf and before he drove it for us he said it is not a Ferrari, but it is a lotof fun. lol He says it is the fastest car he has ever driven or owned! WTF? Was his last car a stage coach? 0-60 in 10 seconds and a top sped of 90 mph is not fast by any standards. Funny stuff.

  • wtf is this

  • @sonert10 ...a waste of damn time! lol

  • VERY LINEAR...YAWN...fail.

Turn on air/radio in traffic jam on 91/405...FAIL

  • WHOA! I have never seen that type of power before! Except on every freaking present day vehicle.

  • 2-47 is not an accepted standard for acceleration testing XD

  • @Elementlmage it does 0-60 in 9-12 seconds, based on how many people+load it has, and I think the charge state of the battery has an tiny effect...

Anyway for the most part it's about 9-10 seconds, which with an electric cars smooth acceleration, feels quite awesome :)

  • The calmest 2-47mph run I've ever witnessed.

  • holly fuck, do you know how many people you could have got killed driving like a renegade. Jesus christ slow down!!!

  • that wasnt 0-60?..

  • haha what a nerds car "very linear' i dare you to drive that up your ass

  • @immortalrapper Unless you have something intelligent to say, log off? And, in case you didnt know, it is better to be a nerd than a jerwad lol......people really dont get it do they?

  • @deedundone

hehe i bet you have a very small penis xoxoxoxoox

  • @immortalrapper And I also like men. you dont insult me, you make me laugh at your patheticness lol :)

  • @deedundone

U make me erect hehe xoxoxooxoxox

  • IM sure it would have a high torque electric motor. Im also sure on that point that its fast at accelerating. Just imagine the starter motor in your car. Its a small unit but it will turn over your engine that is fully sealed and pressurized unit. even if it doesnt start it will turn the flywheel to atleast 200rpm. so im sure that an electric motor made for the road will have no problem getting up and going.

  • That was a totally unfair evaluation. He didn't gun it and the car was full of other people.

Sheeesh. Some electric cars can smoke your butt and some deliver efficient performance to get you as far as you can go on battery power. Criticizing electric cars (as this video seems to do) while you are standing at a damned gas pump giving all your money to multinational corporations seems a bit crazy. Oh look, that Nissan just drove past you and the gas pumps! Oh, it did it again! And again!

  • @pipersall lol this is so epic lol :)

  • @pipersall

Oh look, you're Nissan is still charging while my gas engine just took me 400 miles!

  • @MountainBeautyQueen ...and how much did 400 miles cost you?

  • @toyotaprius79 lol probably costs $80 plus. Even my Fusion Hybrid goes 700 miles on $60 and soon my new Focus Electric will go 400 miles on $6.80 or 700 miles on $11.90. EV's FTW!

  • not bad at all. Its not a performance car people duh lol

    the Tesla is sick though

  • @bottle2lip But tesla is not realy afordable for me xD Skoda is making Skoda green line so I am looking forward to see it

  • that's not 0-60

  • @BlackDucatiS it would 40 hours of video lol

  • That acceleration is slowwww.

  • @timg455 No one said is was built to be a sports car dude.............

  • Lets just say that based on this video 0-60 is not possible or just really slow 10+seconds. 2-47 in 7.2 seconds.

  • you can call me when you run out of juice in about 45 mins, I'll bring a generator!

  • You know what would be verry usefull? a 100% electric suv or minivan, for familys :)

  • :22 vtec kicked in yo

  • 2-47 mph test with a full car and definitely not in a straight line. Fan-fucking-tastic!

  • it gets more MPG than cars that cost way less and is way faster!

  • @AntDX316 this car gets 0 miles per gallon. im not being a smartarse either, i say 0 because it uses NO gasonline

  • @yamahonkawazuki how far until you have to recharge?

  • @AntDX316 they say between 47, and 138 miles. im assuming that would determine, how hard you use your right foot. electric vehicles. you can put foot down a quarter way, and get ALOT more range, without losing take off power.

  • @yamahonkawazuki That's pretty bad for long driving

  • @AntDX316 i agree. would be cool if one could figure out how to rig a small gas generator to the car, and vent exhaust externally. could go in theory several hundred miles between fillups of fuel. or would have to stop for several hours to recharge

  • @yamahonkawazuki they do its called the checvy volt lol. I would still rather have the leaf, and hook up a generator lol. actually you can just have it in the backseat (generator thats portable) and use pvc pipe to run the exaust outside the back wndow, and then voila you can charge as your going down the highway. it might look goofy with the cable running outside the car but who cares it will be a very small amount of gas used for the generator.

  • Being rich is so unfair.

  • We can all agree all Hybrids are never designed to be a race car, though Porsche has a 918 that can do 78.4mpg and 0-60 in 3.2 seconds but that car cost $630k.

  • @AntDX316 this car is not hybrid

  • @doddsalfa pure electric?

  • @AntDX316 i think so

  • impressive for a electric motor, but really..whats the thrill of a 0-60 without the growl of the engine?

  • @Gigchip TORQUE!

  • @Gigchip The sheer silence of the vehicle, more like a luxury car.

  • @Gigchip You've obviously missed everyone's response after driving the Tesla

  • if thats with 4 people then that has to be super quick with driver only

  • No, this is a 0-60 test

    /watch?v=iEKnsqg2sMw

  • THATS FUCKING BULL. TopGear wouldn't do that.

  • they claim it does 0-60 in ~7 seconds

    that's pretty darn quick

but then you have to stop and recharge the car again

  • this car is perfect for ppl going to work because it can go 75 miles without having to re charge it

  • I'd like to see someone really gun it.

  • @meister00001 it might set an electric fire lol

  • @DodgeDurango98 or just drain the battery faster........still better than driving something that gets like what, 2 miles per gallon? oh maybe its more...........like 3?

  • with 3 ppl in the car

  • Not bad at all

  • That wasn't 0-60 in any way whatsoever

  • he's not flooring it through a turn, assuming 0-47 in 7 seconds is very wrong, it's likely much faster than that.

  • misleading title

  • . . . But still it's still very nice to have, especially people in large cities where smog and pollution is a big problem, yep the free market system works great even though the economy isn't doing so great. :)

  • 47, why 47? Why not 50 or 60? ...lol and I'm sure the camera gear held it WAY down! :P

  • No waiting on gears or for a big engine to rev up

  • @Bill1275w

Yeah. That's what makes it blazingly fast. The extreme torque and power propels this $30,000++ car just as fast as a honda accord.

  • @factionxvt408x

Funny how you always find people that complain about a tech when it is in its infancy. Sure range sucks, price is high, but this is Electric Car 1.0. If you read scientific literature, you will find that battery tech has come a LONG way in the last 5 years. Indeed 5-6x energy density increase of what's currently used today has been reported in many papers.

The writing is on the wall, electric cars are here to stay. And thank God, bc when gas gets to $5-6/gl we will say thanks

  • @goma3 Actually the price isn't all that high. Depending on the state that you live in you can get this car for as cheap as $21,000 which is damn cheap for an all electric car. If you are just an in town commuter then this car would be perfect for you.

  • Nice! this car looks pretty cool and it's not slow at all given the fact it's an EV

  • And the number of people aboard (at least 3) also drags down acceleration..

  • @mikexilva Good point... there were actually 4 people in the car (3 men, 1 woman), with 2 people carrying camera gear.

For what its worth, I believe we were also in "Eco-Driving Mode" (more efficient... might hold back some power).

  • @RenewableEnergyNews Ecomode holds back power at all accelerator pedal positions...from what i experienced on my test drive. Awesome car and I bet it can corner really really well if it had good summer or all-season tires.

  • @RenewableEnergyNews How toxic is this car?, ( batteries etc)i like this concept, well this car. but many zero emmisions cars do as much damage to environment as the fossil fuels vehicles out there

  • @yamahonkawazuki well, what do you mean ? toxic compared to what ? ..you can leak those batteries all day long and you be fine. after those batteries are dead they can recycle like 90% of material. so lets think how much is getting a oil toxic, BP gulf of Mexico spill ? anyone ? , how much are toxic gasoline/diesel exhaust fumes ? how toxic is gasoline spill to the river or soil after car or truck accident and how flammable gasoline is in case of pierced tank in accident ? electric cars rules

  • @abradras the plastic in teh battery housings, does not decompose, the contents, lithium i believe. things like that. i lik ethe idea if it were a bit more practical for me. cost? not sure. distance to work thats the main deal breaker there. i look for 1 vehicle that can do everything. including carrying cargo

  • @yamahonkawazuki plastic in regular cars does not decompose either ^^ im missing point of your concerns. they can melt the plastic and use again to make same housing again. well, than this car its not for you, technology is not there yet. this is mostly meant for a city family car for shorter distances. more like 2nd car car you travel to the work every day. you gotta wait or take a look on some hybrids which also have gasoline engine for extended travel distance. search Volkswagen XL1

  • @abradras was talking more about the batteries than teh car construction itself. i do like this car. until recently ive not been a fan of small cars. this one, is starting to win me over

  • @yamahonkawazuki heh, i love this car also :) i would buy it right away. i think size its just perfect for 4 ppl which would fulfill my needs greatly. anyway.. 90% of the time im in my car alone or 2 people. only draw back its driving distance and non existing outlet grid at pump stations. but that will change in soon future , im sure about it.

  • @abradras am sure of it. would be nice if it charged quickly. would help this win over many MANY more people

  • @mikexilva Hah

  • @mikexilva 60-80 kilos dont do much -.-
