WOW I had no idea this was uploaded to the internet! Thanks for the the memories & the immortal tribute. RIP Bobby W & John K, you were so great & are now so missed.
Classic! Before my appreciation started for Hooters music. Unbelievable show at 23 East in Ardmore when Hooters were on a break from their tour. It was almost surreal seeing them there in a small club and seeing them on the stage at Live Aid. Fun band. Great memories from Philly and the '80s! Thanks for posting.
My dad is doing alright (John) hes moving back to Maui to be with me soon, Me and my Mom are all very happy to find these videos on this site, once again Trent, thanks.
Maui? that's a long way from Levittown! Evan, thank you for posting your note about your Dad. I really enjoyed seeing him play when I was growing up. I e-mailed Dave U he said your Dad was well!
While I didn't know your Dad personally, (I knew Dave U from high school) we sometimes traveled in the same circles. I can't tell you how cool it is to see him up there playing & singing away. & I'm really glad life turned out allright! Does your Dad still play professionally? Thanks again!
I've been holding onto this since the early 80's! Just wish I still had the tape with Robert Hazard & The Heroes on it. Lent it out...never came back..
I grew up in Levittown & spent a lot of time in Vernons... John Kuzma was a great guitarist.. anybody know what ever happened to him? The original Hooters was Dave & John with Eric & Rob. I know John sang the original Fightin on the Same Side... hope his life turned out great! anybody know?
The last I saw him a few years ago (in a small club on Mill Creek Parkway), he was just back from Hawaii where he made his living strolling the beaches and hotel pools playing his guitar entertaining tourists. The Japanese visitors loved his playing of American Blues and tipped him well! Long way from 5 Points huh?
thanks for the info.. glad to hear he is ok... some people didn't survive Levittown & the musician-life is tough. There is still a huge blues following here in the US.. I would love to see John play again!
Wow - this is some video. I grew up in the same neighborhood with John in Levittown - Green Lynne across from Truman - then Woodrow Wilson. Never knew him personally - I'm a few years younger. My bus stop for school was across his house and I knew he played in a band. I remember the Hooter guys pulling up in a van and getting out with their equipment I guess to play in his garage.

RIP Bobby Woods.....
I am truly biased, and a big fan of Andy King & Fran Smith & Mindy [??], and John Lilley.....
that being said, this version of this band changed my life...
It was an honor to play w/ John & Bobby, and now I gotta go find some Heartbeats Videos...

steveski, check your messages! I'm the guy in front of crowd with the Hooters shirt on. I need to show this to the two guys who were there with me!

What a find!! I knew John when I lived in Philly during the late-80s. He's a true talent.
IMHO I like his Epic/Ed Stasium version of Jet Black better.
I'm glad to hear he's still playing.

Update us as to your father's recent musical experiences - Is still playing? If so, where can we see him?
