I used iMovie to edit, but the blaster effect was put in with a little program called AlamDV, used for simple special effects. Don't know if that program still exists though.

I used a still digital photocamera, imported it on my comp and put it together with a free movie editor (windows moviemaker or imovie). I started using stop-motion software a few years later.

Mostly lego animations are easier and cheaper to shoot with a webcam :)

Nope, practice, if you look at my 2nd video (A Walk) and then compare it to this one you can see the improvements. (less set bumps, longer, better character movement etc)
