Well a little bit late but damn...I love this. Really inspiring. I like the dirty crispy sound. Thanx for the detailed description about the audio and trigger path. That makes things alot clearer.
Man that is so freakin awesome. What modules were you using? Like envelope followers or quantizers or did that just trigger the steps of various sequences?
Question, can I use drum triggers plugged directly into my mixer, and than into my computer VIA firewire and use software such as drum superior 2.0 to mix tracks? Or will I still need a drum module pre-mixer?
im gussing you have herd of durrcell i do think you put a diffrent perspective on it then him just purly becouse its a diffrent synth and style of drums when i saw him im pretty sure using a nord lead but i could be wrong anywyas keep it up buddy the only way for peaple to progressise is taking risk and expermenting good luck to you peace
wow, good thing i'm hard skinned. Or that comment would've hurt my vanity. don't worry, i won't let anyone see me cry- wait, does that mean that a receding hairline is the european way?
the external input sends a gate to a basic bass patch for the volume and shape of the sound, and the sequencer steps forward with every gate to change the pitch. everything follows my drums. thanks
fantastic video, mate. How do you run the main synth line? Are you triggering the sequencer from the mic or the kick drum trigger? Is the sequencer locked to something or are you playing to the sequencer's tempo?
i'd have to pass the genius title on to dieter doepfer and the analog gurus for their contributions to analog modulars and basic synthesis techniques. I'm just making a collage with some great tools and ideas.

danka-
the Doepfer A-119 is how the bass drum triggers from a mic- one kick sound steps the A-155 sequencer forwards one step.

Damn, dude. That's some cool shit.

Excellent mate! And really nice to see someone using a modular synth as a sound processor for a change .... and very musically too!

genius.
i have to say there's a good effort put into the angle of filming as well. it must have been a bitch to set it up there and get everything in shot..
