I don't know. I actually think she would be good with Houx. Houx is the nice brother and Vanilla is sort of quiet. Plus, both Saule and Chocolat are kind of loud and, I'd hate to anger the Chocolat fans out there, but they're both sorta obnoxious. So yeah, if it worked out like that I wouldn't mind it. =D

They aren't stupid. They are fictional characters who have to be controlled by someone somewhere. It's a rule with all fictional media. Do you think it would further the story's plot if the second they saw him they went, "Hey, dude, aren't you the unicorn?" No, not really. The thing i like about this anime is that the fact even thought Chocolat and Vanilla are enemy's they are still the bestest of friends<3333 and never betrays one and another and become a total bitch, even though vanilla did it on the other episodes when she became the princess of ogre.
