Doyle is making Eric achieve to do more. Of course Jeff is a great guitar player,and Eric is a legend, but Doyle makes the differents, he is also became legendary. And his voice is absolutly outstanding.

@hananjaverduyn Bramhall is cut from the same cloth as Clapton, Beck and the rest of that ilk, that's why Clapton sought him out after hearing him on the radio while driving his car. Bramhall was having problems getting a record company to keep him on because they want hits on demand. A true artist can't work under that sort of BS.
You're right about Eric he always plays better in this situation, he needs the inspiration that playing with an equal provides.

@hananjaverduyn Yup he's the real deal, one in a million. So sad to see the US music industry being brought to its knees by corporate power. The documentary, "Before the Music Dies" explains in detail exactly how this has occurred, there are some very angry and disappointed musicians having their say on it, worth a look. Should be able to google it.

Eric Clapton is amazing. Beyond his technical musical ability. He was never known for being a "God" of technique or speed. Maybe the secret is watching him while Beck is playing...it's like he is playing it...he is enjoying it...he loves music...and is such a VOICE of music...And, of course, when someone is like that we don't know KNOW what all he is capable of, because his purpose is not to show off, but to convey the soul of music. Soul. And, speaking of soulful voice of music: Doyle!
