The game is not overly hard and I love Crais. He's not your run in the mill JRPG hero and he has the best American JRPG voice acting I've ever seen or heard - I actually enjoyed listening to him talk, as the infliction in his voice seemed quite believable. Fun, but not really worth a full $35. I thought it was going to be amazing with that price considering kingdom hearts BBS is only $20 now. It'd be worth it, if it was maybe half that price.

We're not talking about your opinion on which system has better RPGs or not. What Mark and I are saying is that the DS NUMERICALLY has more RPGs than PSP. That's it. When they came out, I would say there were around 40 JRPG's on the system. Granted the DS does have more, but seeing as it's the only other current system that even has a good library of RPG's means it is pretty stocked for the most part. I would say there is around 50 now available on the PSP.
What I love about this game is almost every time they talk there's always voice overs. What I don't like is that, there's too little elements for a normal rpg nowadays.

Mimana Iyar Chronicle got burned down by IGN. They rated it a 4/10. I don't agree with reviewers all the time, but I wouldn't rate this game more than a 6/10. This game has no 'positive' part where it stands out. Everything in the game fails in some sort. They either rushed with this game, or they didn't care much. Thinking that it will be OK, is wrong. Aksys should go to Atlus and learn how to make an RPG.

@Amaranthus616 Never liked Japanese RPG's either, until Final Fantasy grabbed my attention with FFVII, IX and X. That got me interested in many more Jap Rpgs. I guess they're al right. They mostly have unique gameplay and great storylines. Though, I'd prefer a shooter like MGS over these RPG's anyday.
ive been playing it now...and the reason why it makes me continue the game is because its a fully voiced game when it comes to cutscenes and events.. because for me an rpg games should have a voice actors to make the games and the story more lively..the emotions they give to the script are good...even its a traditional japanese rpg you wont get bored because of the voice actors..
this game is...not really balanced out...sometimes, when u equip with the highest defense, u still get attacked like normal...and its freaking annoying when u cant get to somewhere and frequently encounter random monsters even if u use repel called Spirit Drops, u still get same amount of frequent encounter...

dude you could've warned me how short this game is. sure it's over 10 hours but except for the first boss I took everything in the game out easy, leveled up decently later but really fast at the start, you don't even get the other girls on your team until your about halfway through the game in general.
and the only replay value in this is to see the other cut scenes with girls you didn't bother with before yet don't really go further than friendship to not disturb the main plot. it's a rent.
This game looks interesting, combat system reminds me of the Tales series. I might give it a try; now that Breath of Fire is dead and Final Fantasy has gone too Sci Fi for my tastes, it's been a while since I've played an RPG game.
I took a look at the company who created this and thought it was a clear rip off. Thank you for correcting me. Looks like its not a rip off after all, but rather a spiritual successor.

We love JRPG's don't we? Disgaea, Blaz Blue, Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman!, Star Ocean (Ten Wise Men? WTF? It's a stupid name for the group of antagonists), Some Final Fantasy, Tales of "Something" etc.
I wish they just put in subtitles, throw away the "shitty" english dub voices, save money on translation, and of course cheapen the price we buy these anime style JRPG's.
And of course, more boobies, action (Oh yeah!) and awkward moments (Yayuh!).

im 20 hours into it, its long.... looooooonngg..... bout 95% of the time your hittin one button, and casting magic is pratically useless since it takes like 7 seconds to get the cast off and if your hit in the process, the spell is canceled.
but the story is compelling, if it wasnt for that i would have put it down a long time ago. the story drives the game pretty well.

The voice acting in this seems surprisingly GOOD... That's not common in anime-style RPGs...

dude you could've warned me how short this game is. sure it's over 10 hours but except for the first boss I took everything in the game out easy, leveled up decently later but really fast at the start, you don't even get the other girls on your team until your about halfway through the game in general.
and the only replay value in this is to see the other cut scenes with girls you didn't bother with before yet don't really go further than friendship to not disturb the main plot. it's a rent.

This game looks interesting, combat system reminds me of the Tales series. I might give it a try; now that Breath of Fire is dead and Final Fantasy has gone too Sci Fi for my tastes, it's been a while since I've played an RPG game.

We love JRPG's don't we? Disgaea, Blaz Blue, Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman!, Star Ocean (Ten Wise Men? WTF? It's a stupid name for the group of antagonists), Some Final Fantasy, Tales of "Something" etc.
I wish they just put in subtitles, throw away the "shitty" english dub voices, save money on translation, and of course cheapen the price we buy these anime style JRPG's.
And of course, more boobies, action (Oh yeah!) and awkward moments (Yayuh!).

I need more rpgs for my ps3 im starved thankfully i preordered MH3 for my wii...still demon's souls is wearing on me... and Mass effect 2 IS NOT an rpg that is a fucking 3rd person shooter and we all know it. They try to say its an rpg but ive played it it doesn't feel like an rpg at all.

im 20 hours into it, its long.... looooooonngg..... bout 95% of the time your hittin one button, and casting magic is pratically useless since it takes like 7 seconds to get the cast off and if your hit in the process, the spell is canceled.
but the story is compelling, if it wasnt for that i would have put it down a long time ago. the story drives the game pretty well.
