they do make a thumb tip igniter for flash paper. you squeeze the thumb tip and the contacts touch and send a spark to ignite the paper. it's almost invisible because it looks like your thumb.

What he was using, i don't know... I'd rather LIKE to know, but what was clear was that he squeased the paper to make it explode. I think i might be able to recreate this effect using snaps, those little paper twists you throw on the floor which go bang, and a heavily white-spirit soaked tissue.

i'll prove it....notice when he performes the trick, the paper is only exposed for a brief moment before it ignites; he doesnt know when it will burst into flames. therefore, not only is the audience surprised but the performer is as well. ex. (0:33)

Sure there's chemicals. It's what on the paper the ignites after it makes contact with oxygen. Since the stuff inside doesn't have that chemical, it doesn't burn.

its a special flash paper that has a piece of ... fuck i forgot its name , the chemical that they teach u at school in 7th grade , it ignites on touch with air and water, just put a piece of that in the midle of the paper , loosen the paper when u want it on fire and voila... u can burn ureself with style :P

The paper is flash paper, and it is chemically treated. The product advertised is a thumb tip with a glow wire trigger system. Can be excellent for tricks, but i try not to use thumb tips, my audience is always up close.....
