  • this sounds like an snl skit to me...

  • dude get a longer stock... I'm afraid youv'e outgrown yours.....

  • Its a great rifle i fired like 6000 rounds threw it. it still is accurate. i reccomend federal rounds for it though mine didnt like the winchesters jammed it alot!

  • @LoneBuck98 yeah... the federals are the best in my opinion. the winchester and remington thunderbolts dont even let me shoot 2 rounds without a jam

  • BAD ASS INTRO!!

  • got mine ...ready for the jungle!

  • Great video!

  • Most recent Rugers are made in china now :/

  • @Agumon5

    No they aren't.

  • what songs are in this video

  • lol at 3:43 u can see the bullet hole move :D

  • DUDE where did you get that spinning gun rack? lol i want one for my M38

  • man rugers you get what you pay for! $250 for a piece of shit! and that goes for all rugers! buy something that wont jam on you and is actually more accurate than a $50 bb gun!

  • @servoss21sig ya i know what you mean i got a 10/22 and my brother and one of my friends have one they ALL jam none stop all 3 of us hate them i sold mine for 40 bucks and yes we cleand them evrytime we got done shoting and used dif kind of shells get a marlin thats what i got i dont even clean this one and it NEVER jams and i can shot any cheap shit thru it!

  • @huntz2471 Really? Mine never jams, I have run 15+ year old Xpert ammo through it, along with cci mini mags. it just eats it up.

Also, I rarely clean it. I think you're full of bullshit.

  • @forrest225 i bull shit you not!

  • @servoss21sig I've had many Rugers, and they have never let me down. Not once. In fact my daily carry gun right now is a Ruger SR-9. I've put over 1000 rounds through it, nary a problem. Shoots dirty, shoots clean, rapid, whatever. As reliable as a Glock. And I'd put the practical accuracy up against any Sig.

  • The Ruger, Uhh, 10/22, uhh, rifle

  • Comment removed

  • ooooooh what is that model at 0:30??? what kind of stock?

  • Ruger doesnt recommend using the stinger ammo. I have the stainless carbine. Overall the best 22lr auto rifle. Con: thumbloading ammo will tear up your thumb after awhile. You need to keep these clean and use good ammo that doesnt leave alot of residue for reliability.

  • Must be nice to shoot in your backyard. Here in So Cal you have to drive a long ways to shoot anything. Unless you go to a range and pay.

  • hahaha, you make me laugh, reliability is not 5 out of 5, mor like 2 out of five with a non ruger mag, 3 out of five with a ruger mag

  • @FrankieJames7 shut the fuck up you fucking tool. At least he actually knows his shit and dosn't go around commenting on mistakes. btw Ive looked at multiple reviews its a 4 out of 5 you douche bag

  • Nice gun not so hot shootin

  • love your gun, i think i have the same 1.. or not? idk, i have the compact.. but i was wondering how u like the feel of a short barrel..

  • hey i just got the carbine and im wondering if anyone out there has any good sights for new stocks?

  • What is the model of the stock at 0:33?

  • im upgrading from a 22 rifle to a 10/22 :)

  • Hi. I dont mean to frustrate you or take up to much of your time but i got some questions for you, because we just won a ruger 10/22 at our local shooting range/gun club. So this im pretty sure is a standard ruger but it has a custom stock. How long is the barrel on a standard ruger? Plus i also own a Remington 597 semi-auto and ive had that a couple months and i love it, i was wondering after you fire a blank (as is nothing in the gun) to pull back the action seems really hard? Is that normal?

  • how do you pronoune "carbine"

i always thought it was car-buy-n

but alot of people say car-bean

  • I got mine as a gift. It was a thank you from my friend for helping him get past his son's death..

  • I had one of these when I was a kid. Fantastic gun.

  • `best semi automatic .22lr out there` it may be good, but there are .22lrs out there with the durability of a military firearm, with match barrels and triggers....

that said, I will probably get one.

  • i just got a 10 22 and i was goin through the instruction manual and it says to never shoot stingers through it

  • Thank you for this good review. My nephew watched this, and told us he wanted a 10/22 for his birthday. He had already considered a Mini-14, but you were able to get him to decide on the 10/22. I watched it myself, and I must say that you did an excellent job on covering the basics of this rifle. This is an excellent guide for any begginner to watch.

  • where do you get a gun rotating thing......

  • whats better a ruger 10/22 or a marlin 795????? i dont know whitch one i should get

  • Comment removed

  • can u put a drum on this and hold 2 and go crazy with it?

  • what song is that you're playing at 4:00?

  • Great vid. subbed

  • Nice video man. Very thorough.

  • Great video man.

  • Ok, Iv used the cci ammo, works best for my ruger, remington just as well, but the Thunderbolt.. I bought about 10 packs from a store and so far all they've done is jam even in the regular clip, my 25 and 30 rnd. clip jam alot with them too... I was wondering if I bought a bolt buffer and put a few hundred rounds through my 25-30 rnd. clips if it would be as jam free as yours..

  • What magazines are the most reliable?

  • i just bought a 10/22 today and in the manual it said to NOT run stingers through it because of the longer case. don't get me wrong the stingers are amazing through my 21a but according to ruger's manual hot powder and brass in the face are not a good time. just fyi

  • cool video. I just got a K10/22-22 its almost like a 10/22 sporter but with a stainless 22 inch barrel. I just posted a video of it check it out.

  • Excellent video, very thorough. Video and sound production is excellent and very professional. Camera angles are well thought out and interesting to the viewer, excellent editing. Music choice is appropriate and quite enjoyable.

Relating to the review, it was thorough answered my questions. I will look for your other weapon reviews.

  • whats the name of the song during the shooting test?? please reply bro...

  • where can i buy the ruger 10/22 in california? and do i need a fire arm licence? P.S. GREAT review!

  • lol shits n giggles i say that all the time.

  • what do u mean by target model

  • This two-part review was probably the best review I have seen on any gun in a long time. You spoke very well, gave good background, and showed the consumer alot of options for ammo. I would rate this review 10/10.

  • Almost think you might be military. Not because your doing a gun review but your handling of the weapon itself. Yey or ney?

  • they should make a similar gun that shoots a 308 caliber

  • @jmak805 They make a version very similar in action called the 99/44, which is chambered in .44 rem. mag. And I believe the closest thing ruger has to this in a .308 is their mini 30's. I remember seeing how some gunsmith was experimenting with chambering one of the mini 30's for .458 socom, that'd be a bad bitch haha.

  • MINE WAS 270

  • Is this gun as powerful as the walther p22 pistol?

  • Comment removed

  • @pcaledonius lol sorry but u said log rifle instead of long rifle no dissrespect

  • @ORiginX95

    Walther P*22*

    Ruger 10/*22*

They are both the same caliber.

    .22 LR

    ...same power

  • @ORiginX95

yes it is, they both shoot .22 long rifle, but ofcourse the rifle is more accurate

  • Just bought me one the other day, matt finish, wood stock, $207 at walmart

  • I FOUND WORLD'S FASTEST FULL-AUTO RUGER 10/22 RIFLE. Take look at this wild thing on my YouTube video. It's crazy fast! lol

  • I got one for my BD, I'm 55...love it.

  • What's that song in the beginning? It sounds so familiar...

  • great gun.

  • I have one of these. I got it for my 14th birthday. It is great.

  • what is the music at the beginning?

  • I was pricing these rifles at Gander Mountain and didn't realize how much they'ev gone up in price, mine cost me about 180.00 bucks at WalMart back in 1996.

  • Yeah they're about 260 in most big name stores these days. The pawn shops around my area still carry them for 180.00 though. when I bought my black synthetic one I got 3 mags with it for a total of 180.00

  • Mine was 99.00 dollars in 1989. Ha Ha. Miss those days.

  • Nice video---Nice 10/22 info.

  • the Remington 597's magazine only sticks out of the stock for about a quarter of an inch (maybe even less) and when i took it out hunting it didn't snag on anything. the 597's magazine holds 10 rounds, just like the ruger

the remington 597 was voted the second best 22. rifle in the world!!! it is reliable, bigger than the ruger so it fits great in the hands of older shooters, and is more accurate than the ruger out of the box

  • I have a 597 in woodland camo. I knew it was a great gun, but i didnt know it was the 2nd best .22 rifle in the world.

    what is the best?

  • @AMM1998 yeah, but can you cant get quite the amount of fire power like the 10-22.

  • cool suff

  • hey i might be gettin this gun soon is it legal

  • if you can get a gun permit in your state, then go to a gun shop and see it.

    Yes.

  • you don't need a gun permit for this.

  • You're joking, right? I can't buy anything firearm related where I live without my FOID card.

  • i just got this rifle its a great weapon ummmm i recommend cleaning after every use because theres no point in having a gun that good and not take care of it

  • I prefer to actually use the 10 rd mag because it seems to me that the high cap mag that I have jams up a lot. The 10rd mag never has FTF or DLs. But my high cap mag jams about every 5 rds and it has the metal lips, I dont know... Like I said the 10rd is in my opinion the best for it... Dont waste the 30 bucks on the mag...Buy ammo...

  • it also depends on the company of the high cap mags. Many steel lips are cheaply made.

  • rifill

  • Where'd you get the hi-cap magazine?

  • if you are using higher power .22lr rounds (mini-mag, stinger, thunderbolt ect...) it is highly recomended you buy an aftermarket nylon or hard plactic bolt buffer to replace the metal stock one or you will ware out the frame hole that the buffer rests in they are easy to swap out

  • quick question: during the reliability test how long did you wait in between firing to load the different mags? just wondering because after putting 75 rounds through the gun the mechanism would be hot possibly causing problems.

  • Well whenever I do a ammo test I always do a quick barrel, chamber & action clean job for each brand of ammo.

So thats takes about 3-5 Min's + the time getting the camera ready and on + outtakes sometimes, I'd say about 6-8 Min's between test ( ball park ).

  • @dagron1234, i've put around 250 rounds through the gun before it overheated and started actin up. only breaks in firing were to reload the one 25 round clip i had.

  • This review is great and so is Nutnfancy's. Good review.

  • great review. But can someone help because i am wondering if it is ok to dry fire it.. The manual says it is, but i dont want to take chances. Please help

  • not overly sure on this rifle, however how many times do u plan to dry fire it if u know what i mean, like if its once or twice just to make sure the gun's actions are working fine, then ur ok to dry fire it.

  • i mean like as soon as my 10 round mag ends, but the bolt is still cocked because it went back after the 10th bullet, should i pull the trigger to de-cock it, or should i leave the tension on it and dont pull the trigger

  • ohh ok, well leavin tension in the gun isnt very good for the spring, so i'd imagine u would de-cock it, but i guess u'll have to check to make sure. Does it do that every time? if not then im sure its ok to de cock it. If not... not sure then.

  • Nice review. I bought the synthetic stock 10 22 last week and got to shoot it yesterday. Great little rifle.

  • How far away could I hit a can sized targets with this rifle?

  • i gotta admit, when i started this vid and heard you mumbling like donald sutherland, i thought to myself this is gonna be a beauty (sarcasm) of a review. lol. boy, was i wrong. this was excellent. great info and pro-like production. thx

  • Thanks for the kind words man. I know I'm by no means the best speaker but overal I think this video gives a pretty good review of most basic Ruger 10/22 rifles.

  • @kickedintheballs2000 I'm with ultrakool. Thanks for doing an excellent, informative, and thorough job. BTW, the music is incredibly good. You may have answered elsewhere, but can I ask again: what is it?

  • hey i just got my 22 yesterday and i was wondering what kind calibre of bullets the rugar mini shot

  • If it's still a .22, it's a 22 Cal. round just like every other one, the /22 in the name means 22 Cal.

  • if your talking about the ruger mini 14 it shoots .223, just like an AR15. if your taling about the ruger mini-thirty it shoots 7.63x39 just like an Ak47

  • I have never got a jam in my ruger 10 22

  • so many ways to make this up theres people with mg34s made up

  • How much does your basic, no frills, 10/22 cost. I'm 15, and Living in MA, and want one for my 16th birthday in November, and I want the 20in barrel version, and I want to learn the lisenses and laws of MA regarding rifles. Any help/advise?

  • cant get rifles till your 18 young laddie

  • @3mealsaday yeah, i know :(

  • im getting one for my bday next month.

  • im giting the one with the scope

  • not too many 22 rifles eat the stingers thats why you have the ftf and DF

the best ones for the ten twenty two would be like the normal cci mini magz

  • Is the longer barrell gonna' be that much more accurate for target shooting?

  • yes the 10/22 'Target' model generally has a tighter chamber, longer barrel, and i believe the barrel is a .920 bull barrel...so yes it does improve accuracy

  • Can somebody tell me what's a reasonable distance to expect a .22 rifle to be accurate at? Ie, what distance should you use to sight in your scope?

  • a long shot for a .22 would be about 150 yards.. i usually sight in at 75-100 yards then for longer than those distances you just hold it a little high. it really depends on how far you think you will be shooting

  • my 10/22 some parts of the barrelreciever trigger guard is made of some type of plastic is this the same for all? most metal though

  • modern 10/22s trigger gaurd, magazine release and other parts are made of plastic to make it lighter older 10/22s will have no platic parts

  • they do my dad sells the machines for em cant make enuf of them ther gr8

  • they are like $180 were i live

  • great vid

  • they stopped making rugers in 2006... :(

im 14 and my uncle scott(a hunter) said the ruger is the best. lol i was going to get one but they are like 2X more expensive sense they don't make them no more

  • how much were they before?

  • i dont know...

  • they still make them idk wtf your talkin about

  • JonnyTommyGuns- dude i WENT TO THERE SITE and they THEMSELVES said that they are not producing any more guns.

  • Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. has scheduled the annual, week-long shutdown of its Newport, NH manufacturing facility for Monday, Aug. 3 through Friday, Aug. 7.

Due to the shutdown, our NH Product Service Department will be operating with a limited staff. Although we will accept phone calls and firearms shipments during shutdown, please be aware that limited staff levels may result in slower response times. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

  • hte ruger 10/22 is a very good 22 but for precision shooting i think thank cz 22 rifles are the best but thats my opinion

  • I read somewhere that Ruger doesn't recommend using the CCI Stinger rounds in the 10/22. What's been your experience with this? I notice that they were giving you a few probs in this video.

    Keep up the good work!

  • I've owned ym 10/22 for 17 years and have fired thousands of Stinger rounds through it. I've never had a problem using Stingers, thunderbolts, or minimags in it.

  • good to know. I always find that years of experience usually trumps the manufacturers recommended specifications on anything. :) Thanks!

  • From what I hear the stingers are only a NO NO in the target model 10/22's due to a tighter chamber.

    Just what I heard

  • you know what? I think THAT was what I heard. Thanks for clearing it up man. Keep up the good work on the vids!

  • my ruger 10 22 hates cci them jam like mad. in a ten round mag i am likely to get a jam. and i clean my rifles enough

  • thats weird that you cant find any, i live in canada, where our gun laws make it take monthes to get a liscence, and everything is attempted to be tracked, and i can derive five minutes to a wall-mart to get a box of 22. 22L or 22LR.... try ordering them online i guess, if there that hard to find

  • im a canadian to and your right it takes months to get a liscense. what part of canada u live in?

  • Just outside of windsor, ten minutes from the detroit, windsor tunnel, my grandpa has been a collector his entir life, once i turned eighteen i aced both tests, it took almost two monthes just to get the test results back from the gov. then i sent the applications in and its been a month, i called them, they told me it could be another 2

  • ok i live in california socal to be exact does anyone know where i can find 22 bullets i have looked at 2 big fives a few gun stores and a bass pro shop and i can find them any where i got this for my b-day and only shot ounce because i cant find bullets please help :)

  • excellent presentation 5/5

  • how much was the one at 0:34?

  • There was a tacticool 10/22 at the store for $330. Looked real slick fold out stalk neat little sight on it all black.

  • Right before 7 min you almost fired grabbing the magazine but you caught yourself and fixed it. I CANNOT stand when people fire while holding the front of the magazine, esp on M4's.

  • Ya its kind of a habit being I shoot AR's but using the magazine on the 10/22's as a V-grip is not the best idea since its plastic and doing so could even cause you problems like jams & miss feeds.

    Good eye man.

  • I got a new 10/22 carbine a few days ago. I'm waiting on some butler creek 25 round mags, a BC folding stock, and some other accy.

  • LOL at the string to spin the rifle in the beginning!

  • lol hey it works.

  • lol i didnt even see that :P

    nice review btw :)

  • From what I have been told Federal ammo is the best to use for a 10/22

  • Thanks for the review. I'm ordering one tomorrow through a local gunshop, $199.

  • just got one today! cant wait to shoot !

  • Its a blast man, The best gun I have ever owned. BUT DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT, use cheap ammo.

  • Yeah, I love it because it shoots accurate, its cheap, its not a little cooey bolt action, and it shoots some of the most popular ammo in the world. Love mine.

  • aa ruger aa 10/22 aa stop sayn aa

  • Looks like a lot of fun, I'm thinking of purchasing one. But I am no pro shooter by any means, and I am concerned that disassembling a semi-auto action to clean might take some skill or serious know-how. I prefer the simplicity and reliability of bolt-actions which are easy to take apart, but would like to buy a decent little semi .22 for fun. Is it hard to take apart a semi action and clean it, or am I worrying to much?

  • Oh the ruger 10/22 is very easy to disassemble man , most likely one of the easiest semi-autos to take apart.

I have a video where I show disassembly of the 10/22 and there are many more on youtube also.

  • Thanks a lot! I'll check it out.

  • The opening is EPIC!

  • where can you get the ccis they arent at any of my sport stores

  • The Stinger (from CCI) is usually a great round. I bet it was simply old ammo. The 10/22 will usually run through anything you give it. Great vid too!

  • The 10/22 is fun to shoot, reliable, and pretty accurate right out of the box. Best of all you can plink all day for $20 in ammo.

  • Amen brother and trigger is always good time , no matter what caliber.

  • You always have the best soundtrack for your videos! What song was it this time?

I should have bought a rifle last year before all the ammo got bought up. A .22 is about the only left until the prices go down...

Glad I can still get 100 12 ga shells for $20

  • Thanks man , I really do enjoy the music I use in my videos and I feel they are a key point in them.

I've since started adding all music credit at the and of the video but the song I play in the start of this video is from the " Immediate Music Soundtrack " and is called " Liberty Shield "

  • Im only 12 and my dad wants to get me a 22 for my b-day. I was already an airsofter and told him about a ruger 10/22. He already owns a mark 1 so we know there products are nice. the only problem with the ruger 10/22 is that its so pricey!!! So im probably going to get a marlin. Anyone know much about them!?!

  • dude the 10/22 at walmart is 200 thats relly good 4 a gun like this

  • not in NY

    they don't sell rifles anymore

  • Don't bring comments like that to my channel.

  • its a pretty acurate gun so it makes up for its lack of punch or kick as some people call it

  • nicely done review. good shooting from the standing position too. that's the hardest position to be accurate. I'll be looking out for any of your other reviews. thanks for doing this.

  • No problem Dave, thanks for the support man.

    Mike

  • hey kicked. i just got a nikon prostaff 4x32 for my 10/22 did i get a decent scope?? and is 4x32 good for a .22?

  • I'm not really sure man cause I'm not a big scope person ( Sounds like a good one )

  • Can't go wrong with a Nikon! GreAt scope, i have a 3-9x on my remington 700 and i love it! You'll be happy

  • I found that an adjustable zoom is best - I have a 3 to 9 x zoom, which gives me an edge over my mate with just a 4 x. They aren't all that expensive, I only paid AU$80 which I guess might be around 50 to 60 US.
