Great video - the question I have is the quantity to feed my dogs. I have a rotti that needs to lose weight and is not happy with measured kibble (I wouldn't be either!) I have been feeding her a mix of brown rice, cooked meat (chicken or beef) and veggies (mostly carrots) for dinner with kibble in morning but don't know how much to feed to get her weight down
ok ive now seen a lot of homemade dog food videos and im really confused! some say give them raw meat as it keeps the ingredients, others say no, some say no garlic, others yes. as your dog looks really healthy i'd really like to hear what you think. thanks
is raw chicken good for them all the time, with the risks of salmonella. I love this idea of cooking for your dog, when i get my shih tzu puppy i will start him/her off right. You can also make your own homemade dog shampoo so that you have control over the pH balance. For all that dogs do for us, we should give all that love back with how we feed them. Same with our children =)
Hi, just wanted to mention that I use olive oil instead of vegetable oil since it is more healthy with the omegas. Makes a nice shiny coat. thought you'd be interested to hear that so you can try it. also, adorable dog!
My dogs love that recipe too, and they love garlic. My Bernese Mountain Dog turn 8 months and weight 35.3kg can you tell me how much are you feeding your Akita?
thanks for posting this video... very helpful. i just got a puppy and the vet keeps telling me to use dry/wet dog food because human food is not good for them. but then, i want to give them a balanced natural diet, so this video helped a lot :) cute akita by the way. i recently watched hachiko and named my puppy that too... but my dog is not an akita
No don't worry. Garlic and salt are not poison to them. You don't want to have a lot of salt though because like humans too much sodium can increase your risk of high blood pressure. Onions are toxic to dogs, and people then pass that warning over on to garlic, but if you look at a lot of good quality kibbles, you see garlic is one of the ingredients. But still, you don't want to give too much garlic in a diet.
whats healthy powder? and where can I get the bone meal? I have a cat and a dog, is this good for both? THANK UUUU SOOO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS! I WANT TO SWITCH MY DOG AND CATS NUTRICION FROM KIBBLES TO NATURAL HEALTHY.
Also, when you make a big batch like that, how do you store the remains? I like to make my dog a mixture of raw foods every week, but I'm concerned about the loss of vitamins and minerals when I store it in the fridge..? Thanks in advance
@HeapsHeckasFilms No, garlic is great for them. Onions are not. I am a Dog Behaviour Expert and have also heard the myth about garlic being bad for them but the truth is, us humans have ALOT to learn about feeding and fulfilling our dogs! We need to forget what we think we know :)
You're amazing that you actually cook for your dog! I think its great to feed them proper food too but it takes such a long time. I just don't have the time to feed him the stuff.
I can only feed the highest quality kibble or raw food sometimes.
i don`t think garlic is good for dogs actually. but homemade dog food is a great idea. i try to cook for my dog too.

Fantastic - I'm always happy to see people really taking responsibility for their animal companions. Did you order the book or get it at a store?

pammeadows101 2 years ago
we feed him Timberwolf, but I just heard that they changed the ingredients, so I'll have to look into it to see if we'll stay with this brand.
