1. The music composed by the brilliant Nobuo Uematsu

2. The badass art by Akira Toriyama, Artist of Dragonball Z

3. The masterminds of RPG games, Squaresoft.

@321findme lol... i know one year later... but my favorite impact on the past... is the fact that everything you did already happened but in a wierd way...

for example if Chrono never got the Red Knife and combined the powers of Masa and Mune to react to the mammoth machine.. there would never be a Masamune and therefore there would never quote on quote "Frog"

Chrono trigger on the ds is pretty much just a port of the playstation version.

no i meant the remake. There are some videos of it probably floating around on YouTube. Chrono Trigger was remade for the PS1 once.

The greatest RPG of all time (if not, at least the greatest in 16bits), with the greatest soundtrack of all time.

Square really doesn't respect this game as much as they should. They have all these sequels of the FF7 game using the characters from there, why not with the Chrono Trigger characters?? the chrono franchise in itself is kinda gypped... but even so, this game stands strong alone.

Much like its sequel, Chrono Cross, it was ahead of its time. Todays gamers appreciate it, but sadly it was not the money maker Square hoped for back when it was released. But yes, this game is a classic and I hope to see it on virtual console soon!

personally when i heard there was going to be a sequel, I was hoping for at least some of the same characters... but it just seemed like an entirely different game altogether... most likely thanks to the cross-platform. Chrono Cross was a good game, but it didn't have the spirit of the original.

dawg i hear you, i had the same experience, i was like lets see what the opening scene has to offer. i heard the tick/tock and twinkle of the clock and was like not bad... smooth intro, then this song came boom, i was left playing the game for the next 12 hours.
