Hey man I know this is an old post, but I just bought a used firepod and it.s not working. You mentioned that it recognizes it in system preferences. Mine is not showing up. Is there drivers I'm not getting right? Help me out man
now i trust you haha i found the manual thats a beautiful thing sorry if im bothering you but one more question is that a firewire 400 or 800 port on the back?
It's two 400 ports. 800 would be too much bandwidth for a 10 I/O interface. If you have only an 800 port, you can use an 800 to 400 cable. It's all good man, I'm here to answer questions.
They are actually Neutrik XLR+1/4 inch combo jacks. They will accept either normal XLR jacks, or 1/4 inch plugs for line input. The first two are also Hi-Z for plugging in a guitar or bass.
