I swear there was a redone version of this series. I played a Gundam game, the federation vs Zeon, Jeourney to Jaburo, and they had animated cut scenes from, what I thought, was the show. If they did redo this and air it again it would totally be a hit all over again I think. But was this redone?
I can't believe how many voice actors we're familiar with did voices in Gundam! That was the dude who did Dinobot, Ratrap, and all those dudes from Beast Wars! And all those other great shows. So wicked!
@Krafterr4 I remember him best as Duo Maxwell, my favorite character in my first mech anime. Have to say, it's always nice to hear voice actors from the old Toonami days. I just find it strange that American animation has seemingly all gone into Pixar. Much as I love anime, there used to be a good number of stuff made here in the states that was respectable. Maybe its just me, but I prefer this artwork to newer anime. Even if it is choppy, or it reuses animations, this was all still HAND DRAWN. It adds a human element to the show, makes it more unique. It flows better, it communicates themes better, and sure at times its cheesy and corny, but this is still somehow better. Its more original, its more human, and less robotic. You know what I mean?
Yea, I do. This is totally lame, but 11 years later I continue to be a Pokemon fan, (first 3 gens) and midway through season 3 I believe it was, they switched from hand-drawn to computerized. It's a HUGE difference. The different coloration, shading, art style as a whole, causes a major shift in the feel of the show. Hand-drawn anime just feels more organic I guess, and for people who knew anime before, it's the more familiar look and feel.
@LessThanCool I think it's better because all the characters look different from each other. The reason I say this is because in newer anime you see they have similar faces yet they alter (e.g colour of eyes/style of hair) it so they can look a little different, all in the name of making them look all pretty.

I noticed something when the colony was dropped on the Earth. Sort of like what happened in Gundam Wing, scratch that when the colony was dropped on Earth in Gundam Wing had happened in Mobile Suit Gundam before.
Cartoon network has been in decline all decade. They've tried too many original programming that didn't pan out.They need more action/adult themed shows like Darker Than Black and Ergo Proxy and fewer re-runs of King of The Hill/Family Guy.
Even if Cartoon Network had a good show or a good line-up of shows they lack consistency playing them. In a era were people don't have the patience/schedule to watch a program daily, Cartoon Network would frequently change their line up, especially Adult Swim. I use to watch Cowboy Bebop and other anime shows. One show would be at eleven then in a few weeks move to one, or be canceled, then they'll spontaneously bring back the show. It's hard to be an anime fan
Toonami aired up to around episode 35 and for some odd reason stopped airing them after the 9/11 attacks. I remember being so pissed because then I had to order the DVD's!!!! I searched the net at the time and found no explaination other than rumors about CN wanting to tone down violent shows. Who knows but thanks to AnimeChannel for posting this!
I remember when cartoon network aired this back in 2001. The network stopped airing shortly after the Septer 11. I don't think the network ever managed to show it in its entirety. It is nice to finally see all the episodes (it would be nice if sunrise got ahold of the rights to episode 15 at some point).

@JDM408 Due to the terroristic attacks on the World Trade Center, many thought that airing a show based on war and the "terroristic" attacks by Zeon would upset viewers. Or something like that, it was a bit overboard IMO.

I noticed something when the colony was dropped on the Earth. Sort of like what happened in Gundam Wing, scratch that when the colony was dropped on Earth in Gundam Wing had happened in Mobile Suit Gundam before.

Cartoon network has been in decline all decade. They've tried too many original programming that didn't pan out.They need more action/adult themed shows like Darker Than Black and Ergo Proxy and fewer re-runs of King of The Hill/Family Guy.

Even if Cartoon Network had a good show or a good line-up of shows they lack consistency playing them. In a era were people don't have the patience/schedule to watch a program daily, Cartoon Network would frequently change their line up, especially Adult Swim. I use to watch Cowboy Bebop and other anime shows. One show would be at eleven then in a few weeks move to one, or be canceled, then they'll spontaneously bring back the show. It's hard to be an anime fan

Toonami aired up to around episode 35 and for some odd reason stopped airing them after the 9/11 attacks. I remember being so pissed because then I had to order the DVD's!!!! I searched the net at the time and found no explaination other than rumors about CN wanting to tone down violent shows. Who knows but thanks to AnimeChannel for posting this!

I remember when cartoon network aired this back in 2001. The network stopped airing shortly after the Septer 11. I don't think the network ever managed to show it in its entirety. It is nice to finally see all the episodes (it would be nice if sunrise got ahold of the rights to episode 15 at some point).

@JDM408 Due to the terroristic attacks on the World Trade Center, many thought that airing a show based on war and the "terroristic" attacks by Zeon would upset viewers. Or something like that, it was a bit overboard IMO.
