I was born and raised in Nova Scotia and I will live here till I die! My mum moved here from Glasgow a long time ago and she never went back. We are the highest taxed province in Canada. And, our taxes just went up 'again' to what they used to be a few years back. Jobs here suck, the weather sucks. But we are some of the most happy and friendly people you will ever meet! We love our province and the maritimes as a whole. Come visit and have a drink.....of more.

My second search of "For this is the end of my" yielded the result 'Great Big Sea - Wandering Ways' sure sounds like the one you mean being irish and fast paced.

Wasn't called New Scotland for nothing! Would love to see that part of Canada. Like penna171980 my mum also came to the US via Glasgow and never went back. Would love to go to Scotland one day,but Wyoming is home!!! Weather sucks here for about 7 to 8 months out of the year,but jobs are good and no state income tax,...so that's a plus!!

I was born and raised in Nova Scotia and I will live here till I die! My mum moved here from Glasgow a long time ago and she never went back. We are the highest taxed province in Canada. And, our taxes just went up 'again' to what they used to be a few years back. Jobs here suck, the weather sucks. But we are some of the most happy and friendly people you will ever meet! We love our province and the maritimes as a whole. Come visit and have a drink.....of more.

There is a great book, I think it's called the cousins war which articulates a series of conflicts over a two hundred year period between 1600ish and 1867ish which identifies the struggle between the anglosphere world view and the people within the same realm who disagreed with that world view. I.e. Irish and scots vs English vs. Scots vs. Irish vs Scotch-Irish etc etc. Great book.

Canada: Never has backed down ever.... lays claim to the only nation to ever burn down the White House (Sure, they may have been "British" at the time, but the troops who did it were Canadian).
