@Ameshdicto, Hi there, no we weren't Qatar Airways crew, although we know some people there who are. Feel free to send me any questions if you are thinking about moving there. We left over a year ago.
Hi, there is a very big range here. Rent is very expensive, though I think it has gotten better since the economic crisis. It will also make a difference if you're alone or with your family. Food and clothing etc is also a little more expensive than other places because everything is imported. As with anywhere, it is best if you connect with a group or community when you arrive as they will show you the shortcuts and deals.
Hi- this one had been by our company for almost 12 years, so the rent is much lower than normal. I believe our company was paying just under QR10,000 a month for it (plus hydro and electricity, about QR500 per quarter). Rent prices really depend on neighbourhood, and I hear they may drop soon because of the global economic trends, but haven't seen proof of this yet. Feel free to ask any other questions if you're moving to Doha.
Actually the villa rent was paid for by our old sponsor (we've since switched employers), it was an older building and they'd been renting it for a while so it was fairly reasonable. Now we live in one of the Westbay towers, very nice, but horrifyingly expensive.
These cats 'came' and 'stayed' with the villa (after a lot of neutering so as not to have them multiply further), but we did adopt two cats here.
Hello Guys... just a quick question.... are you Qatar Airways Crew?
