Cannibal Corpse didn't copy Slayer, although they certainly would have drewn their inspiration from them along with other thrash, metal and hard rock bands. In realilty most bands are always inspired by other bands. Cannibal Corpse would have based their music on the stuff they were into when they were growing up and becoming musicians. Finally they would create they're own style, this case the crushing brutal style that is known as death metal! And it's fucking great !!!

What you're talking about is simply two sixteenth notes followed by an eighth note - call it a gallop or whatever, but it is not triplets.
