@wclehr I'm not really big on the whole Rihanna thing of his, but he is an artist, therefore he learns & improves, (if POSSIBLE for him!) W/every new experience. Extreme has always been my fave, & I love J. Nettles so seeing him on stange w/her was so awesome to me.. I actually met Gary Cherone in July, 1st time. And I know Pat Badger. He doesn't live far from me. ;-)

As a fan of Madonna, I've heard better versions of this song. Some songs just do NOT do well with a "twang" in them....this is one of them. What's next? A Beyonce song with a "twang"? Oh right....they already did a Beyonce song too. Now don't get me wrong, I like country music too, I love Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, George Straight, Brad Paisley, and various others in the country music genre....but seriously Sugarland, STOP IT!! Some pop music is not meant to be twanged!

Untill very recently I had never heard of Jennifer Nettles or Sugar land then I heard all we are played on BBC Radio 2 and I was so blown away by this girls voice I had to stop the car and crank the volume up full blast. If this is what modern day country music is all about then I DEFFO want in on it as I love the fresh twist to it. I have got to get over to the USA sometime from England and see if I can pick up with a decent band!!!

One day I was flipping channels and saw Bon Jovi singing, turns out it was for a show called Crossroads on the Country Music Television where they were singing with Sugarland. I have been a big fan of all 80's and 90's Madonna. And I usually hate remakes but I actually like this and that they didn't try to change it. Usually changing it up doesn't work. Sugarland did a great job imo =)

I hate making fun of singers cause god knows I can't and won't get on stage and hurt people with my voice, but this video just made me burst out laughing. Something about this woman singing Madonna and flapping her arms around like a chicken with that outfit is just hilarious. (again, I can't dance and refuse to do so unless I'm alone, so I'm not saying I'm an expert on the subject).

Cute and lots of fun, but remarkably little variation from the original. For all her energy, her voice sounds metallic, thin, and inexpressive - not well suited to gospel gut belting. Of course, without engineering Madonna had exactly the same problem.
