Easy Goer was simply the vastly faster, better racehorse. Easy Goer ran seven or eight 120+ or higher beyers(DOUBLE more than any horse since Bid, including Ghostzapper,Skip Away,John Henry,Cigar,Holy Bull,Alysheba,Formal Gold,Gentlemen,Curlin,Zenyatta, etc) in his career, while SS ran ONE!! The great equalizer=Pat Day's own admitted despicable riding by an inch and desperate neck in two races.
hahahah isn't this a bit of trolls on the loose? I thought it's a tribute for Sunday Silence, not a place for mobs, especially the same 3-4 individuals that say the same thing over and over again
Furthermore, after we talk about grittier, tougher nonsense. No Hall of Fame horse who runs the fastest 3 yr old mile of all time in 1:32,the 2nd fastest Belmont of all time,on the tr.recat 6.5f as a 2yr old, among the top 5 fastest Champagnes of all time, fastest 7f of the year in Florida, among the top 3 all time fastest Travers, right on tr.records in Whitney&Suburban, has one of the most historic, grittiest campaigns(while SS rests)w/a 12f prep, and gets beat an inch&desp.neck due to despicable riding
Grittier, tougher might be the most ludacris thing I heard. Day made 3 huge mistakes to get the best horse beat an inch in Preakness.1-Much much too early shotgun move b/cValenzuela carried him out to the middle of the track,2-Outmanuevered for stretch getting trapped &banged down into the rail,3-Jerked his head right before the wire=Grittier. Classic, The supposed grittier, tougher horse SS took off the summer and fall while Easy Goer had one of the most historic, grittiest campaigns w/a 12f prep
Lol, quit blaming the jockey? The jockey,Pat Day, blames himself for his own despicable riding and calls his own riding "absolute rider error" and it surely was in two races by a whisker and desperate neck. Pat Day's riding was so despicably bad that even the unbiased Californian expert Bill Christine stated the obvious, it surely wasn't just Day admitting the obvious,or all the eastern experts, or the Bloodhorse top 100 book, that is for sure.
@EASYGOERFLIES Pat Day was disappointed at losing & monday morning quarterbacking. Christine & Hirsch do NOT represent the consensus view of all "experts" & even they it did, it is only OPINION No one knows what would happen if Pat Day rode EG differently. The outcome isn't certain. You have to run that race. My "opinion" is if Day doesn't make that big move in the backstretch that got SS checked into Houston's hind quarters, SS enters the stretch with a bigger lead & wins by a wider margin.
Quit with the Easy Goer stuff willya ... In the four biggest races they ran, Sunday Silence beat him three times (Derby, Preakness, Breeders Cup). They ran nose to nose down the stretch in the Preakness and Easy Goer couldn't hold him off. Sure, Easy Goer was the better looking horse, had the better pedigree and all that ... but Sunday Silence was grittier and tougher. Quit blaming the jockey.
Put Cordero,Pincay,Bailey on Easy Goer and Easy Goer does not lose by a nose and desperation neck in 2 races due to typically atrocious Pat Day riding(see also Sky Classic,Turkoman,Java Gold,Forty Niner,Heavenly Prize,Seeking the Gold,Paradise Creek,Surfside,Banshee Breeze, etc). The one constant=typically atrocious Pat Day riding. But the huge difference was Easy Goer was always a top ten all timer, but they cost him to put in the thirties where ss always belonged
Like many of the racing experts stated from both coasts(Christine from California, Nack,Hirsch,Crist,Watchmaker,Pope, etc) and even trainers like Wayne Lukas and Woody Stephens also stated, but stated the most correct by Paul Moran of espn,"Easy Goer was the better, more phenomenal, extraordinary horse, but was defeated by a whisker and desperate neck in two races because Pat Day rode him like the exposed end of a live wire, rode him horribly." So true and correct, and they still are
Easy Goer, here is Hall of Fame champion horse who displayed wicked record speed(1:32.2, 1:15) at 8f and at shorter distances with a thoroughly supreme and amazing stamina to run the second fastest Belmont of all time, and ran many of the most historic races won by many Hall of Fame horses on or near track records at every distance in between, and those awful kid gloves and baby hands Pat Day rides got him defeated a nostril and desperate neck in two outs vs. SS.
Easy Goer was already champion two year, ran the fastest 3 yr old mile ever in 1:32.2,second fastest Belmont Stakes ever w/only Secretariat faster, ran so many history making races with all time performances(Belmont,Travers,Whitney,Champagne,Suburban,Swale,Gotham, etc, etc) but like many of the experts from both coasts stated(Christine from LA,trainers Lukas and Woody,Nack,Hirsch, etc) "Easy Goer was the superior horse but was defeated by a whisker &desp.neck in two races b/cDay rode him terribly."
@flylion132 Must have been hard for all you EasyGo apologists watching everyone that bet on Sunday Silence cashing in winning tickets in 3 of their 4 meetings. Charlie Whittingham made a good arguement that Pat V made his move at the wrong time in the Belmont,, or SS would have won all 4 and the triple crown. But yes...Easy Goer was a better horse and should have won those races, the South should have won the civil war, Keith Richards should have already died... blah blah blah.. get over it
to wolfsrule, Sunday Silence was '89 horse or the year, after an abbreviated 4-y-old cmapaing, 2 starts, he was retired and sent to stud in Japan, why not the US? Predjudice is alive and well in horse Racing (read the pathetic comments of th East Coast snobs. Sunday reset all Japan racing records with is offspring and cont. to do so even after his death in 2002 from a massive heart attack. His reace record stood at 14-9-5-0 almost $5million in earnings.
Same thing that I said, except different words from Crist, "If not for the 2 typically atrocious rides that got him beat a nose and desperation neck in 2 races, Easy Goer would be mentioned in the same reverential breath as Man O'War,Secretariat and Citation, and his campaign would be acclaimed the greatest in racing history." Same thing, just different words.
Easy Goer had a heart as big as Belmont Park, Longhchamp,Nad al Sheba,Meydan or Epsom. In fact, Easy Goer was always no doubt whatsoever a top ten all time thoroughbred in talent, constitution, heart, ability, speed, stamina, as evidenced by his many, many top ten performances in his career at every distance,6.5F,7F,8F,9F,10F,12F,but the 2 typically atrocious rides that beat him a nose an desperation neck in 2 races put him down in the thirties where SS always belonged.
Overhyped? No Hall of Fame champion racehorse who ran the fastest three yr old mile of all time in 1:32.2,destroying Secretariat's record by 1 full second,a tick off Dr. Fager's world record, ran the second fastest Belmont in history, ran many of the best, most prestigious races right on tr.records, and gets beat an inch and desperate neck by two despicable Pat Day riding can be.
Easy Goer was indeed the vastly faster horse, Easy Goer ran 7 or 8 120+or higher(double more than any horse since Spectacular Bid in 1980) in his career, while SS ran ONE! Easy Goer was the vastly faster horse, and was over deeper, slower eastern tracks, but two despicable rides got him beat an inch and desperate neck in two races.
Drfager01 said it,and I totally agree. Easy Goer, here is a Hall of Fame champion horse with unlimited record speed(1:32.2) abilities at 8f or shorter distances, with a thoroughly supreme and amazing stamina to run the second fastest Belmont of all time, and run many of the most historic races won by many Hall of Fame horses on or near track records at every distance, and Pat Day rode him with "kid gloves &baby hands",rode him awful to get him beat a nostril&desperate neck in two outs.
But the humongous difference was that Easy Goer was always undoubtedly a top ten all time thoroughbred in talent, constitution ,ability, heart, speed, stamina, with the clear proof of that coming from his many many top ten thorbred performances in his career at every distance, but the two extremely atrocious and typical Pat owned Day rides that got him beat a nose and neck in two races put him down into the thirties where ss always belonged. I know, the thirties isn't too bad
As if Pat Day ONLY rode Easy Goer atrociously bad in two races? NO, not in the least. Typical typical atrocious and owned Pat Day rides got so many top horses beat costing them Eclipse Awards, Breeders Cup races, Derby's, champion awards- Sky Classic, Easy Goer, Java Gold, Turkoman, Menifee, Forty Niner, Heavenly Prize, Seeking the Gold, Paradise Creek, Surfside, Banshee Breeze, and so many more.
Very correct, Pat Day was owned by every jockey from both coasts, Cordero, Pincay, Stevens, Eddie D, McCarron,Velasquez, Valenzuela, Bailey. That was the truth.
Easy Goer, hail and tribute and salute to the REAL and TRUE Hall of Fame champion who could run any distance, from sprint to mile to classic to marathon, and run all distances sensationally brilliant and SS could NOT!!EG only got beat by two terrible terrible Pat Day rides by a nose and desperate neck. Very simple
Easy Goer, hail and tribute and salute to the REAL and TRUE Hall of Fame champion who could run any distance, from sprint to mile to classic to marathon, and run all distances sensationally brilliant and SS could NOT!! NOT!! EG only got beat by two terrible terrible Pat OWNED Day rides by a nose and desperate neck. Very simple
More like Easy Goer OWNED SS in the Belmont, and two terrible terrible Pat OWNED Day rides got the better horse beat a nose and desperate neck in two races. Pat Day was the OWNED one. He was definitely owned by every jockey out there.
But the dramatic difference was that Easy Goer was always no doubt a top 10 thorobred in talent, constitution, ability, heart, speed, stamina, as evidenced by his many many top 10 thorobred performances in his career at all distances, but the two extremely atrocious and typically owned Pat Day rides that got him beat a nose and neck in 2 races sent him down into the thirties where ss always belonged. The truth
As if Pat Day ONLY rode Easy Goer atrociously, chokingly bad in two races?? NOPE, typical typical atrocious, owned,Pat Day rides on so many top horses costing them eclipse awards, Breeders Cup races, Derby's,champion awards- Sky Classic in 92, Java Gold in 87, Easy Goer, Turkoman in 86,Forty Niner and Menifee in the Derby, Heavenly Prize, Surfside, Banshee Breeze and so many others
ERNIE'S words will live forever and I will remind him forever! He says, "Hall of Famer Easy Goer was a TRUE ALL TIME GREAT, fastest three yr old mile of all time in 1:32.2, second fastest Belmont of all time, many of the most historic races won by many hall of famers on or near track records. He deserved better in that supreme campaign he was put through." Your words will live forever.
Easy Goer will always be mentioned in the same breath with the greats of all time, the Dr. Fager's, Secretariat, Kelso, Buckpasser, etc, in spite of the two appalingly awful rides that got him beat a nostril and desperate neck. SS was never nor will ever be mentioned in the same breath with the Dr. Fager's, Secretariat, Kelso, Buckpasser, etc.
Easy Goer, been there done that already, was already an eclipse award champion, and two terribly bad rides by Pat Day got the better horse beat a nose and neck in two races.
SS owned nobody! More like Easy Goer OWNED SS in the Belmont, and two terrible Pat the choker Day rides got the better horse beat a nose and neck in two races.
Sunday Silence just owned Easy Goer. Sunday Silence basically had Easy Goer’s number. Easy Goer had already lost the BC Juvenile Mile and the Kentucky Derby made it 2 in row in the biggest races of his life….More big time losses to come..Second in the Preakness…Second in the Breeders’ Cup Classic…And Second all the Eclipse Award for 1989…Like I have stated before.. Sunday Silence just owned Easy Goer.
Easy Goer was always undoubtedly a top 10 racehorse in talent, ability, constitution, speed, heart, stamina, with the proof coming from his many top 10 racehorse performances in his career at all distances, but the 2 extremely atrocious rides that got him beat a nose and neck put him down into the thirties where ss always belonged.
Oh I do think they were both great horses, but like many of the racing experts stated from all regions of the country, but stated the most correct by Paul Moran of espn,"Easy Goer was the better and more spectacularly and remarkably talented horse, but was defeated by a whisker and desperate neck in two races because Pat Day(he even admitted it)rode him like the exposed end of a live wire, rode him horribly." So true and correct

thanx for the nice tribute. Adds a new dimension to the battles between Sunday Silence and Easy Goer. Now we all know that Sunday Silence even lived longer than Easy Goer. I just wish I could see some of those stretch runs they are having in the clouds.
Easy Goer was always no doubt a top ten thorobred in talent, heart, ability, toughness, speed, stamina, as evidenced by his many, many top ten thorobred performances in his career at all distances, but the two atrocious Pat Day rides that got him beat a nose and neck in 2 races, sent him down into the thirties where ss always belonged.
No doubt in the least that the better racehorse, Easy Goer, only got beat by two appalingly awful rides by a nostril and desperate neck in two outs. Easy Goer will always be mentioned in the same breath with the greats of all time, despite the two awful rides that got him beat a nostril and desperate neck, SS was never nor will ever be mentioned in the same breath with the Dr. Fager's, Secrertariat, Kelso, etc
Easy Goer was always undoubtedly a Top 10 racehorse in speed, stamina, ability, talent, with the proof of that coming from his many top 10 thorobred performances in his career at all distances, but the two ridiculously bad rides that got him beat a nose and neck in two races, sent him down where ss always belonged in the thirties.

This is a tribute to Sunday Silence not to Easy Goer. So if you want to troll your biased Easy Goer comments go somewhere else asswipes. Sunday owned Easy so get over yourselves. Stop crying and bitching about things that are history.
Easy Goer was always no doubts in the least a top ten thorougbred in talent and ability, as evidenced by his many top ten performances in his career, but the two extremely atrocious rides that got him beat a nose and neck sent him down into the thirties where ss always belonged.
Easy Goer, Tribute and salute to the TRUE and REAL Hall of Fame champion great who could run any and all distances, from sprint to mile to route to classic to marathon, and run any and all distances sensationally brilliant, and SS could NOT!! EG only lost because of two terribly bad rides by a nose and neck in two races.
Are you people so freaking pathetic that you have nothing better to do but spam any Sunday Silence video? For God's sake, it's a tribute that has nothing to do with Easy Goer. Why can't you just accept the fact that some people actually (and I know this is a hard concept, so just bear with me here) like Sunday Silence? And rattling off long comments about Easy Goer is not going to change our minds. The past is the past. Both of them are dead now. Your arguements mean litterally nothing. So stop.
Easy Goer was without any doubts whatsoever a top ten thoroughbred in talent and ability. Why you ask? His many top ten thorougbhred performances in his career at all distances, 6.5F, 7F,8F,9F, 10F an 12F proved that, but the two ridiculously bad rides that got him beat a nose and neck in two races put him down into the thirties where ss always belonged.
No doubt at all that the better racehorse, Easy Goer, got beat by two appalingly awful rides. And when you look up the word romp, you will find Easy Goer crushing SS in the Belmont, not two lengths in the Derby when EG wasn't even close to himself, and was spinning his wheels(Fine, say SS was better on a muddy Churchill track by two lengths that EG wasn't even the shadow of himself).
@EASYGOER4LIFE at 1-1/4 ss was without a doubt the better horse 2 for 2 eg was better 1-1/2 but who cares american racing is 1-1/4 i love hearing eg fans whine let go
Stated correctly by many racing experts in all parts of the country, but stated best by Espn's Paul Moran, "Easy Goer was the better and more spectacularly and extraordinarily talented horse, but was defeated by an inch and desperate neck because Pat Day rode him like the exposed end of a live wire." So true, and I agree with the many racing experts.
Easy Goer, Salute to the TRUE and REAL Hall of Fame champion great who could run ANY distance, from sprint to mile to classic to marathon, and run any and all distances sensationally brilliant and ss could NOT!! EG only got beat by two terribly bad rides by a nose and neck.
LOL!! SS was leading sire in Japan where the leading sire in the 11 years prior to him was NORTHERN TASTE. SS did NOT sire ONE G1 winner in the USA or Europe! Easy Goer died very prematurley after siring just a few crops, still is the sire and broodmare sire to Corinthian, Storm Flag Flying, Will's Way, My Flag, Magical Fantasy, Furlough, Funny Moon, Monba, etc in a few crops.
Easy Goer was always without any doubts whatsoever a top ten thorobred in talent and ability, as his many top ten thorobred performances proved, but the two ridiculously bad rides that got him beat a nose and neck put him down in the thirties where ss always belonged.
Pat Day ONLY rode EG atrociously bad? Noooooo, not! Typical atrocious riding by Day on Sky Classic, Turkoman,Java Gold, Easy Goer,Forty Niner, Heavenly Prize, Seeking the Gold,Menifee,Paradise Creek,Surfside,Banshee Breeze, and so many others.
Easy Goer was the better and more sensationally talented horse that got beat an inch and desperate neck in two races by two horrible, typical Pat Day horrible rides.
@flylion132 Again, talent is one thing, and performance is another. A horse or even a human performer may not live up to it's billing, and accomplish what you might expect. EG lost 3 of 4 to SS. That's fact. And as a sire he best EG by what his offspring have accomplished. Why after over 20 years is this still being quibbled about? Horse lose races because of track condition, jockey error, any number of things. As It happened with Easy Goer also. So what? And he didn't come close in the Derby.
I know, I was there. Charlie (trainer Whittingham) wanted something around 1:36 or 1:35.3 at most. Chris Mccarron just let him go out easily on his own without prodding and he burned the track. But other things cannot be measured by a final times of a racing clock; heart, desire, grit, determination. I salute both and give equal billing in that pantheon of great thoroughbreds, the Hall of equine Heroes and remembrance of the performances that we were all able to be witness to.
Like Paul Moran of espn stated so correctly, "Easy Goer was the better and more extraordinarily and amazingly talented horse, but was defeated by an inch & desperate neck because Pat Dau rode him horribly, rode him like the exposed end of a live wire." So true

@flylion132 Easy lost by over 2 lenghts in the Kentucky Derby. 3 out of 4 overall. You can blame the jockey Day, but sometimes because of the horse's lead, you cannot make him do what you think he ought to do. On some horses, the jock is more of a passenger than a pilot. Big fields, navigating through traffic, coming from way off the pace of a race, that's part of racing luck. And Easy just couldn't get it done.
Easy Goer was always no doubt whatsoever a top ten thoroughbred in talent and ability, with many top ten thoroughbred performances he acheived in his career, but the two atrocious rides that got him beat by a nose and neck, put him down where ss always belonged in the thirties.
Kind of like somebody comparing two totally unrelated things in EG "means nothing gallop out time" in the Gotham in 1:45.3. Or the way EG was ridden totally different as well. Kind of like the black kettle comparing two "totally non related things". Only the black kettle
Not just the Gotham come home time. But, EG routinely came home in 23 and change or 24, and 11 and change or so(TWO TIMES vs. SS no less), and in the Preakness EG came home in almost 26 SECONDS and 13 and change!! And the reason:EG was sent through an insanely premature move INTO AN ALREADY fast pace being carved out by Houston, and SS did not force EG into doing that. If you want to say Day overreacted and "thought Val. would take him out very wide on the far turn"-fine,but not the horse.
"ABSOLUTE Rider Error" as Day said. As Day said all he had to was "Let PVal take Him Out to the Center of the Track Down the Backstretch", EG was in Perfect Position At the 3/4Pole, and "Not Overreact and Send EG Through that Move and Mistake the 4F Pole for the Finish LIne"...PVal Wasnt Going to Take Him Out to the Middle of the Track on the Far Turn, and Thats what Day was Afraid of. "ABsolute Rider Error"
Black kettle clown, you have stated over and over the pace in the GOTHAM was 44.1 and 1:08.3 and his"gallop" out was 1:45.3!!! So, EG came home TEN lengths slower than his Gotham because a horse was right next to him in a dogfight? LOL! NO! It was because EG was sent through an insanely premature move into an ALREADY fast pace being set by Houston in the Preakness. And he wasn't in the Gotham. By the way, SS did NOT force EG to make that insane move in the Preakness at all.
Easy Goer was always no doubt a top ten horse in talent and ability, but the two atrocious rides that got him beat a nose and neck, put him down where ss always belonged. Two greats indeed.
Why do you Easy Goer fans feel the need to spam every Sunday Silence video on youtube. Go ahead and mark it as spam. You can't handle opposite points of view. Get a life.
Or, WHY did EG come home in the Gotham in 23 4/5??????????????? and 11 flat???And then came home in almost 26 SECONDS and 13 and change in the Preakness??? That is a TEN(10) LENGTH difference in come home times!! LOL. I will repeat that, 23 4/5 final qrtr and 11 flat final 1/8
@DELMARCLUB1 Clown, he was also home free in the stretch in the Gotham. He was in a dogfight in the Preakness with another horse who proved time after time he could turn back EG. Not to mention after a mile in 1:34 1/5,they went their final 1 1/2 F in a sharp 19 3/5,especially considering the pace BOTH horses ran! especially with the fractions leading up to it! You sure love trying to compare 2 totally nonrelated things! LOL!
Easy Goer routinely came home in 11 or 11 and change and 23 and change or 24, and he came home in almost 26 SECONDS and 13 and change and YOU are still wondering why??
Now, Summer Squall came home in 18 SECONDS FLAT!! Codex came home in 18 1/5!! Affirmed in 18 3/5!! 7 or 8 lengths faster than Easy Goer were Summer Squall and Codex!! And you are still wondering why?
EASY GOER was CLEARL a half length behind Diamond Donnie(the leader) with 6f to run, and then DROPPED Back to be over 2 lengths behind the leader with 4F to run!! I don't need Bill Finley to tell me that. I can see them with my own eyes.
Here is Bill Finley in the BloodHOrse Issue April 15, 1989!! "Easy Goer broke more sharply than usual, and was ONLY a half-length behind DDonnie after a Quarter Mile with 6F to run,Pat Day then allowed Easy Goer to settle and DROP Back to 4TH with 4F to run and over 2 lengths behind the leaders." Do YOU need more Proof that EG dropped back from 6f to 4F to run???

In the Preakness,SS & EG went the mile in a blistering 1:34 1/5 going 9 1/2 furlongs no less! They came home the final 1 1/2 furlongs in a very sharp 19 3/5! Just for comparisons sake,Native Dancer went 19 2/5 in the Preakness, after a mile in 1:38 2/5! OVER 4 SECONDS SLOWER THAN their mile in 89! Was ND just a pokey assed plug? Risen Star went 19 3/5,after a mile in 1:36 3/5,Hmmm I think you get the picture! LOL!

Do the math between the calls in the Gotham race Champ. between the 1/4 mile call and the 1/2 mile call the 1/4 mile time for the leader was 21 4/5! EG made up AT LEAST ONE LENGTH,therefore he went in 21 3/5! That ended at the exact halfway point of a race where he went the mile in 1:32 2/5(1/5 off the WR!),and went 9F in 1:45 3/5(once more 1/5 off the WR!). And your gonna try to tell me he was "cooked" bya 21 3/5 1/4 in the Preak? LOL!

Funny how Champ has finally admitted the DRF was right and somehow I was wrong? Champ's PP running line for EG in the 89 Gotham is virtually identical to mine he has it - 5 PP 2 FC 4(2 1/2 back) - 2 (1 1/2 back) - 1(2 1/2 ) - 1(13). I have it as follows 5 PP 2FC 4 (2 1/4 back) - 2(1 1/2 back) - 1(2 1/2) - 1(13). Champ are you gonna bitch about a 1/4 length difference after only a 1/4 mile had been run? LOL! I got out of the PP's from the DRF TB Champions book!
Here is your answer black kettle: MOST importantly! Easy Goer routinely came home his last 1/8 in 11 or 11 and change, and came home his last qrtr in 23 and change and 24!! How could EG come home in the Preakness in a snail like(for EG) 25 4/5(almost 26) and his last 1/8 in a snail like(for EG) 13 1/5??? The answer is as clear as Day! That is an almost TEN length difference! Does the fastest third qrtr in Preakness history& a 21 sec. insanely premature qrtr come to mind?
Day knew EXACTLKY what his "ABSOLUTE Rider error" was, and knew exactly what he had underneeath him with 1/16 to go! Day isnt lying about what he had underneath him. And Day didnt call his ride Horrible b/c of the huge criticism he got
Day isn't giving his opinion on EG "being rubber legged inside the 1/16 pole" and " he could NOT even turn his body, his head turned, but his body Stayed the Same".
Easy Goer was NEVER moved through an insanely premature 21 second quarter in any race in his life, and that includes the Gotham! And Pat Day thought the 4F pole was the finish line in the Preakness. Put that 21 qrtr into perspective. Even after Dr Fager ran that slow 48, Dam. came and pressured him throgh "insane" 23.1 and 23 qrtrs. Hmmm
Shrug off an insanely premature 21 second quarter?? You know nothing about what that might do. And EG wasn't spent until the 1/16 pole, after running 1 1/8! I wonder how EG would have done in all those other ungodly races if he ran an insanely premature 21 seconds qrtr, in the Belmont? In the Travers?, in the Whitney? Woodward? Jockey Club?
I know you guys are mired in all these dozen or so excuses for why EG got beat 3 of the 4 times he met SS. I mean the evidence is all over the place. Got something for you clowns to ponder. "Spent" TB's,ESPECIALLY GREAT TB'S, do not come home in 1:53 4/5 for 9 1/2 furlongs. That is the most telling proof that all your whining is just sour grapes woulda shoulda coulda BS! LOL!
Why are they THREE excuses for THREE losses for SEC? He got beat in a stretch duel and lost narrowly right before the wire to Onion. He lost running an amazing ungodly stamina 2:26 and change to Prove Out, and his rider misjudged the slow pace paying, and his own trainer said it was a bad ride that got him beat.
Del mar, you are right and we all know it. Easy Goer was never moved that early, that fast, and every so called "expert" saw how bad his ride was. Even Pat Day did, and Pat Day knew what his "Absolute rider error" was and knew what he had underneath him with a 1/16 to go.
And the TRUTH really hurts for you DOC Livingston BE109!! You are the FRAUD Clown who threatens to bash peoples teeth in, wants to box people, calls videos YOUR TURF like a sicko who then gets blocked and erased from those very videos, calls people asshole, jackass, idiot, chickenshit, and has been the Biggest Fraud for 3 years
Hey FRAUD Clown DOC Livingston, YOU are the one who learned really well from Doc Livingston to tie your horses to your pick up and drag them around Albuqurque New Mexico everyday for your life. Ooops, I forgot you are and have been on utube everyday for the last 3 years! LOL FRAUD
And if you would answer my question on how far back EG was with 6F toi run in the Gotham, then 4F to run, after watching the tape. That would clear that up! But YOU, the black kettle, have REFUSED to answer it! LOL
For the thousandth time one the 25th different video! Easy Goer was NOT moved through an insanely premature 21 SECOND quarter in the Gotham or any race in his life. Was he moved that prematurely in the Belmont? Travers? Whitney? Woodward? Jockey Club? Derby?
@DELMARCLUB1 Why can't you answer my question? You keep giving me this he was cooked by an early 21 & change 1/4 line,in a freaking race where he ran an incredible 9 1/2 F in 1:53 4/5! Not to mention EG went the following 1/4 in 24 3/5,which is pretty sedate even for good TB's! You mean to tell me that a horse whom some of you hail as equal to Sec couldn't handle something like that after going 24 3/5 for a 1/4? PLEASE!!!!
Same thing with your excuses for Secretariat losing three times. He lost in a stretch duel by a slim length to Onion, lost running 2:26 3/5 in the Woodward by 4, lost by 4 in the Wood Memorial when his own trainer blamed it all on a very bad ride.

@flylion132 Same thing goes for you flyboy, why are you answering my question with a question? I have already explained the KEY distinction between facts and opinions(aka excuses,on your part), I'm waiting! LOL
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@ruffchamp1 Hmmmm, but I would hazard a guess that EG had to rolling bigtime to go 8F in 1:32 2/5,and then gallop out 9F in 1:45 3/5. You don't go those times by merely cantering thru the race. Those times, especially the 9F shows EG had sublime stamina, almost Secretariat-like,a horse you guys love to compare EG to. So I guess since you have finally learned where the 3/8 pole is,your a better CC than the DRF CC's? LOL!
Secretariat must have had "selective ungodly stamina"!! LOL!! To lose three times as a three year old to horses who had no chance at all, and all thoses races run in his home New York no less. It was definitely selective.
And Easy Goer didn't have selective stamina! LOL!! Easy Goer was NEVER moved through an insane way too premature 21 second quarter in any race in his life.! LOL
LOL!! I am asking YOU to go watch the Gotham and YOU tell me how many lengths EG was off the leader with 6F to run, and how many lengths EG was off the leader with 4F to run?? And you tell me if I am wrong. Go ahead and do that!
And you are also correct in that Easy Goer was not ever moved that early and like that in any RACE in his life, at any distance! B/c clearly Easy Goer was dropping back in the same 1/4m in the Gotham, that he was making that cannon early move in the Preakness.
Black kettle, go watch the video of the Gotham and YOU tell me I am wrong! That is all I want you to do. You watch and re-watch it and tell me exactly what the video tells you where EG was with 6F to run and 4F to run in the Gotham, and you tell me that I am wrong. You tell me
@DELMARCLUB1 Delmar I could care less if you and Champ think your better chartcallers than the Pro's at the DRF,who do it for a living, trust I could care less. Why won't you guys quit going off on tangents, and please stay on topic for once,ok? Please explain how EG evidently had "selective ungodly stamina" ???? I would love to hear the answer!
NO! It is quite clear as crystal that EG was never moved through an insane way premature 21 second quarter in any route race in his life, and even in the Gotham sprint race, EG was DROPPING BACK in that same split!! Go watch the video and tell me I am wrong!
Cont- After his "magical lack of stamina" in the preakness,he goes out and runs the Belmont in 2:26 flat! LOL! You guys are once again trying to steer the topic to BS like, you guys see better than the professional chart callers at the Daily Racing Form! Whether you do or not is of no concern to me! LOL! It is quite clear that EG proved he had unreal stamina in his Gotham performance. 9F. in 1:45 3/5,and as some of you love to crow,he was doing it EASY! LOL! I guess the DRF sucks eh?? LOL!
You guys trot out all these "experts" from the DRF to prove your opinion that EG was superior. And now you are in essence saying the DRF can't see straight? LOL! None of this really matters anyhow, since it is very clear that EG demonstrated before and after the Preakness that he possessed unreal stamina. Yet conveniently for you guys,he was magically wanting in the stamina department on Preakness day! Yet he was clocked going 9F in 1:45 3/5 ,after winning the Gotham WELL IN HAND! Then,Cont-
Cont- throughout all the decades should be subject to scrutiny! Lol,no matter what you guys claim about EG's running positions in the Gotham,it in no way changes the FACT that EG exhibited RARE STAMINA when he ran such savage fractions going around 1 turn no less, and just missed the WR for 8F. on dirt by 1/5 of a second, and was clocked going 9 F. in 1:45 3/5,once again 1/5 off the WR! That gentlemen proves he had unreal stamina. Funny how you guys go off on how inept the DRF is now! LOL!
So basically you guys are saying the Daily Racing Form chart callers are inept, now do I have that correct? I find it so damn funny how you guys seem to think YOUR so much smarter than the Pros at the DRF! Now all of a sudden when it seems to suit you guys, you guys go on and on about how far off the mark the DRF is. So I guess if DRF was so inept at charting EG's running positions throughout the Gotham, then commonsense would indicate that their past performance charts and THEIR workouts,Cont-
Go watch the race black kettle and you will see with your own four eyes that EG, with 6f to run was a 1/2 length behind the leader, and with 4F to run he was 2 1/2 lengths behind the leader, he DROPPED BACK and you can see that with your own eyes!! Go watch the video and tell me what you see?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@DELMARCLUB1 I could really care less if you think your better than the chartcallers who work for the DRF! Your still dodging the simple fact that EG conveniently possessed UNGODLY STAMINA BEFORE AND AFTER THE PREAKNESS! Yet in the Preakness he went 9 1/2 F. in 1:53 4/5 and just missed by inches!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@DELMARCLUB1 Why are you dodging my question concerning EG's stamina,by asking me a question in response to my question? Anybody with any sense can tell your dodging my assertion that this "EG was used up in the Preakness, therefore SS was lucky" is nothing more than a big excuse. Otherwise explain EG going 9F in 1:45 3/5 BEFORE the Preakness, and then going 2:26 in the Belmont AFTER the Preakness? In which both races EG did it with complete ease! I'm waiting! LOL!
And I guess the Daily Racing Form and its Past performances are just a bunch of idiotic BS? Funny how now the DRF is not worth listening to you guys after all the times you used them as proof ! LOL!
Easy Goer was 1/2length behind Diamond Donnie with 6F to run, and with 4F to run, EG was 2 1/2 or 3 off the leaders. The video does NOT lie. Just look at the the first red pole and where EG is, then look at the 2nd red pole and see where EG is!! Ok black kettle
And Easy Goer did NOT run an insanely premature 21 second quarter in the Belmont, or the Whitney, or the Travers, or the Woodward, or the Jockey Club, or any route race. And he dropped back two or so lengths in that same split in the sprint race Gotham
And Pat Day sure would know how Easy Goer felt with a 1/16 to run, I think that Day would know how he felt, and what his absolute rider error was. But, definitely what he had underneath him with a 1/16 to run
Holy cow as Phil Rizzutto used to say. I hear what ur saying Delmar,I have been repeating myself as well. Why u ask? B/c the DOC Livingston BE109 has been repeating himself on many videos for 3 years now.
I will repeat it again for you black kettle since I know you need it repeated maybe seven or eight times! With 6F to run in the Gotham, EG was a half length behind the leader, and with 4F to run, EG was 2 1/2 or 3 lengths behind the leader, and dropped back, he dropped back, in the same quarter that he ran that insanely premature 21 second move in the route race, which the Gotham of course was not.
Delmar the 3/4 split on a DRF PP chart means the time at the 6 furlong mark! Wow,you don't even understand what the 3/4 split means do you? It means the time run at the 6 furlong mark! LOL!!!!! Here is how it works the 1/2 mile split= running 4F.,3/4 split=equals running 6F.,etc. are you getting it now?
LOL!! YOU, the black kettle, is so wrong again. Go watch the Gotham video with your own eyes, instead of reading for a change. Easy Goer was a 1/2 length behind the leader with 6F to run in the Gotham, and with 4F to run in the Gotham, EG was 2 1/2 or 3 lengths behind the leader, EG DROPPED back in that same quarter as he made that insanely premature 21 second quarter in the route race Preakness.
Wrong again? You say EG was a 1/2 length behind with 6F. left to run, well,at the 1/4 mile split(which is at 2F,that means there is 6F to go) EG was 4th by 2 1/4 lengths, this is in the OFFICIAL DRF PP'S! At the 1/2 mile split(which is at the 4F. mark, meaning there is 4F left to run) EG was 2 by 1 1/2 lengths, and at the 3/4 split(thats the 6F. mark, meaning there is 2F to go) EG was 1st by 2 1/2 lengths! Your obviously are confused, and I hope this helped you LOL!
Watch the RACE and stop looking at the DRF! Now, as you are watching it, where was EG with 6F to run? A 1/2 length behind the leader. Where was EG with 4F to run? 2 1/2 or 3 behind the leader! He dropped back 2 or more lengths in that split! Go watch it again

EASYGOERFLIES 8 months ago 6
Grittier, tougher might be the most ludacris thing I heard. Day made 3 huge mistakes to get the best horse beat an inch in Preakness.1-Much much too early shotgun move b/cValenzuela carried him out to the middle of the track,2-Outmanuevered for stretch getting trapped &banged down into the rail,3-Jerked his head right before the wire=Grittier. Classic, The supposed grittier, tougher horse SS took off the summer and fall while Easy Goer had one of the most historic, grittiest campaigns w/a 12f prep
EASYGOERFLIES 8 months ago 6

Quit blaming the jockey.
rvburchianti 8 months ago
Put Cordero,Pincay,Bailey on Easy Goer and Easy Goer does not lose by a nose and desperation neck in 2 races due to typically atrocious Pat Day riding(see also Sky Classic,Turkoman,Java Gold,Forty Niner,Heavenly Prize,Seeking the Gold,Paradise Creek,Surfside,Banshee Breeze, etc). The one constant=typically atrocious Pat Day riding. But the huge difference was Easy Goer was always a top ten all timer, but they cost him to put in the thirties where ss always belonged
DELMARCLUB1 8 months ago 5

SS.

LiztheLark 1 year ago
Easy Goer was always no doubt whatsoever a top ten thoroughbred in talent and ability, with many top ten thoroughbred performances he acheived in his career, but the two atrocious rides that got him beat by a nose and neck, put him down where ss always belonged in the thirties.

LOL!

Day isn't giving his opinion on EG "being rubber legged inside the 1/16 pole" and " he could NOT even turn his body, his head turned, but his body Stayed the Same".

Easy Goer was NEVER moved through an insanely premature 21 second quarter in any race in his life, and that includes the Gotham! And Pat Day thought the 4F pole was the finish line in the Preakness. Put that 21 qrtr into perspective. Even after Dr Fager ran that slow 48, Dam. came and pressured him throgh "insane" 23.1 and 23 qrtrs. Hmmm
