There is a bulky electronic harmonica made in the UK but they have not been adopted by many players as they lack good innovation. Dr. Antaki has many players testing his prototypes but I think they are sworn not to disclose performances until after he releases the final product in the near future. I'd tell you to keep your ears open but I doubt anyone will miss it since it will likely be the coolest thing since sliced bread. I own a Custom BX model LOW D harp that he tuned and he made me wait but it was worth the wait.

The sound on this clip is very poor, but that's not because of playing into a mic.

A pickup doesn't deliver the tone preferred by most harmonica players, esp. blues harp players.
